Pros:
Price
On board memory
Left and right scroll
Colors
Comfort
DPI Change settings
Customizeable weight options
Smooth gliding

Cons:
Tracks at high lift height.
Software isn't the most intuitive.
DPI setting lights are always red.

This mouse is by far the best I've had. It is very comfortable, very responsive and very reliable, perfect button placements and the buttons react very nice. This is the perfect mouse for FPS games and everyday computer use. Comparing it to other great mice I have had :
-The comfort of the mouse is comparable to the RAT series which is looked at as the most comfortable.

-The buttons on the mouse are BETTER that the Logitech MX Performance mouse. Simply because the MX has bad button placement and hard to use left and right scroll IMO.

-The tracking is almost as good as the Razer Taipan which is looked at as being the best for gaming(because of its two sensors for height tracking). The only downfall to this mouse is that if you tend to lift the mouse a lot, which FPS gamers do sometimes, it tracks a little high off the mouse pad.

This mouse is a definite buy it is amazing and its only downfall is the height tracking, which I got use to very fast buy making the mouse lighter and lifting it up more. Also this problem can possibly be solved by a driver or a firmware update in the future. The software was a bit frustrating in the start because I don't read manuals, writing macros was not intuitive at all but I used the help feature and I got the hang of it. With that being said the only two flaws of this product are VERY minor IMO.

100% BUYYYYYY!!!!!

EDITED: After looking up the tracking at high lift distances there is a fix for it.

The Good:
Form factor is compatible with several grip styles, comfortable shape rises to meet your palm, good for medium sized hands.
Surface finish and textures are as good as other reviews state, was pleasantly surprised.

The Mediocre:
Software is functional, but in no way is it on par with major manufacturers in terms of quality, sub-par interface makes writing macros and custom functions difficult and sometimes counter-intuitive.
Placement of sticker and sharp edges surrounding laser port encourages buildup of lint, causing random tracking/skipping.

The Bad:
Mouse wheel left and right scroll functions are far too easy to engage when center-clicking the wheel, effectively makes this a mouse with two fewer buttons, assign them at your own peril...
Quick-Switch profile button is not re-assignable, which is disappointing since the placement is perfect for an alternate function (confirmed with Gigabyte tech support).

Other thoughts: In the past month I've tried 4 different mice, for what it is worth in the context of this comparison I'll add that the M8000X is the only one I did not return. A few improvements could really make this mouse stand out. Ultimately I kept it because price/comfort but not features.

Other mice I tried recently: Sensei Steel Series (my other top pic, best mouse wheel, best software, not as comfortable) Razer Taipan (better for small hands, a close 2nd for textures), Logitech G700S (Comfortable but large, total mouse wheel design fail, not typical for logitech), Cyborg R.A.T 7 (great construction quality but no option to remove thumb tray, back/forward buttons do not click/feedback).

Worked great until today when all of a sudden it started being all jittery and zig zagging around, tried cleaning the bottom of the mouse and my desk but it didn't fix the issue. Only lasted 6 months. Back to my 6 year old G9 :/

Edit: it stopped doing whatever it was doing after a few days.. not sure what that was all about.. been working fine now for 5 more months, so upping my review. My only complaint is that sometimes the left mouse button sticks until I press the very top of the button to un-stick it.. this only happens like once a week.. interesting :o

When I first bought this mouse, it worked with my soft razor pad, but after 4 months, it started being jumpy like some reviews mentioned. I read up on the issue and apparently this mouse doesn't like cloth/soft pads, but hard ones. I ordered a cheap thin 3M mouse pad that is plastic and this solved the problem. 1 year later, it started losing the easy slide, and while the teflon layered feet looked ok, they were probably 1/3 to 1/2 the original height. Thankfully, there is 1 set of replacements with the mouse. I replaced the feet and everything is great again. Holds up well to 6000 of hours of gaming and work.

As a gamer who has never played with a mouse pad, I got this and was worried it was not working. The mouse does not work on several desk, and cloth like surfaces, this is a mouse that NEEDS a mouse pad. For some, that is no problem, for others, like me, it's something new. However, that is not a game changer for me. The mouse is perfect for what I wanted it for, and the added LEDs for some interesting colors in the night is something that add a little though you may take it for granted. When I first got the mouse, I had to really get used to the shape, it curves right in the middle, and that is where the middle of my hand actually rests, so it's a little strange at first, but all new mice are when you first get them. There are extensive options to customize the mouse, and it even has switches so you can change profiles immediately while in game with NO lag between the input and reaction. For me, this is great for switching from browsing, to gaming profiles in SECONDS. No need to open anything, just flip the switch.

All in all, I suggest this to any gamer out there, just make sure you have a mouse pad before you get it!
