As a long time (55 years) insulin user, I developed diabetic neuropathy some years ago. This would present as stinging or shooting pains in my feet and lower legs, often waking me from a full sleep.

I use R-Ala 600mg and L-Acetyl carnitine 3000mg for my cubital tunnel parasthesias and I believe it has helped tremendously. Its been about 1 year since I've had a right cubital tunnel and I've been taking R-ala 600mg/day and LAC 300mg/day for about 2 months now and I notice about a 85-90% recovery with my compression neuropathy. Could it be placebo? sure I guess it could be but I do feel improvements with my parasthesias since I've been taking both supplements. worth a try for anyone with neuropathic issues and nerve type pain.

Have purchased this twice after developing small fiber neuropathy as it was advised as a possibly long term remedy. I have taken it for about 6 months regularly taking 2 capsules every morning. My neuropathy symptoms have not improved but have not worsened. Neuropathy is often times not reversible. I find it does keep some of the pain at bay though. One huge benefit I have noticed is the blood sugar benefits. I take 2 every morning on an empty stomach (this is essential) with acetyl l-carnitine. I wait and hour to eat. I can have a breakfast with a good amount of carbohydrates and still see a very nice drop in blood sugar levels an hour after eating. My levels were in the 70's and hour after eating after 2 waffles, sausages and coffee with sugar. If you are someone looking to keep blood sugar at bay without medicine. Consider taking this in combination with Acetyl L-Carnitine. I have actually seen great benefit in that department. Wish it would miraculously cure neuropathy but not happening as of yet. Seems to be a very good supplement though.

I use this for nerve pain in my leg and foot caused by stenosis in my back. Sometimes when I've wondered if it's working or not I stop taking it for a day. My pain gets worse almost immediately, so I know it's helping. I used to take gabapentin and that stopped working, so I switched to this product. It does cause some brief indigestion like the other reviewers mention, but my skin is also softer like other reviewers mention. I'm taking 4 per day.
