The Amarelli Spezzatina licorice is advertised as pure licorice. It is. These tiny pieces are brittle, intense in their flavor, and are definitely not the least bit sweet. My wife and I are co-owners of a candy store that specializes in gourmet licorice from around the world. Over the course of time I have tried well over a hundred varieties of licorice. The Spezzatina are about as close to pure licorice extract as you will find in a non-liquid form. One or two of these tiny pieces are enough to keep the taste of licorice in your mouth for several minutes at least (and probably to satisfy your craving for licorice for considerably longer than that). This little 20 gram tin should last for quite some time.

These little bits are also excellent for soothing a sore throat, which is one of the medicinal properties of pure licorice (and is why many traditional cough suppressants include licorice extract). So, whether you simply crave the taste of pure licorice in your mouth or you want something to coat your throat, Spezzatina will do the job.

This tin is so super cute. The licorice drops are just as described though they will take some getting used to. I expect they will help my throat at long events like a symphony or concert where you don't want to drink a lot of water because you don't want to have to leave to use the facilities.
