The key to being happy with this camouflage kit is going into it with realistic expectations. If you are anticipating a perfect job on par with a factory applied finish , you may be disappointed. However with that said, I am very happy and impressed with my results and would dare say that it does look professionally done if not inspected closely. As other's have mentioned the vinyl is slightly "slick" but not enough to concern me. It completely transformed my gun and was actually kind of fun to install. One big positive for me is that the kit is made in the USA.

Tips:

Do it in a warm room.
Clean your firearm really well. (Don't skimp, or you will regret it)
Use a sharp blade, a hobby knife would be best.
Use plenty of heat. A blow dryer worked great for me.
Leave excess on the seams and overlap them a little to ensure complete coverage.
Keep one of the backing sheets next to you and put the excess on it to use for patching small areas later.
Make relief cuts on tight curves and then hide the cuts with the seam.
Don't be afraid to pull the vinyl up if it isn't right. It is thick and the adhesive can handle it.
If you get wrinkles, first try to re position, if you can't, apply direct heat and smooth them down.
Be creative, some parts are harder than others. If you have to patch pieces together it all blends together well.
Most of all, take your time and don't get frustrated.

Good luck!

I was hesitant to buy this product because of the work that is involved in the installation process. I was completely wrong. The installation was simple. This product comes in several labeled pieces making installation a snap. The instructional video on the mossy oak website gave was of great help. I would definitely recommend checking it out before trying to install on your own. I only had a handful of areas on the gun where the vinyl folded around a bend, but these were fixed easily because the product can be pulled off and reattached as many times as needed without degrading the adhesive. I WILL be buying this product again for another gun of mine. This turned my beat up 870 into a brand new looking gun. The entire process, from unpacking to finished product, took 3 hours. Most of this is because I am OCD and wanted it perfect. I recommend picking up an exacto knife to help in the installation process.

I previously had a vinyl wrap (from another Co.) on the barrel of my Browning A5 for at least 10 years. I took it off and was amazed the condition of the barrel was the same as when I put it on. With that being said I wanted to upgrade the camo and cover the entire gun. This product fit the bill perfectly. There is a link provided to an online video tutorial that I recommend watching first. There are some good tips. A heat gun or hair dryer is required. The wrap will stretch when heat is applied so there is virtually no cutting involved except for where there is excess. I have the humpback A5 and I was able to cover every section of the gun. The definition of the camo is very good.

Even after reading other positive reviews, I went into this project with a bit of skepticism. For around $20, I am more than happy with the finished product after putting this on my 870.

Like others have mentioned, you'll want to go to youtube and watch the video to help explain the application process, and make sure you've got a good razor and a heat gun (I used a blow dryer.) Heating the stuff up makes it conform really well. I really didn't have any difficulty at all other than a bit on the barrel trying to get it to line up perfectly with the ribbing.

Just take your time (It took me about 3 hours), and you'll have a real nice looking camo job for a fraction of what it would cost otherwise.

Also, if you make a straight cut down either the top or bottom of the stock and receiver, you're seams will look professional.

Went on *much* easier than I anticipated. Be sure to clean carefully. The trickiest part on my particular shotgun, an A400, was the tapered barrel.

Don't attempt without a heat gun or a blow dryer, or you won't be satisfied with the results, especially in concave and curved areas.

Take your time. Put on a good movie or album in the back ground and go to it. I spent about an hour and a half all said and done, but I am a bit OCD. Don't be afraid to use heat and stretch the material when needed.

Once on, it amazingly didn't look like a *vinyl wrap* as far as texture and feel. It seems to dull out as stretched and heated and loses some of the cheapo vinyl shine.

Once you're done, go over everything well with heat. I was able to get some of my texture back in the checkering areas by hitting it with heat and pressing it down firmly with a gloved hand. I have a factory camo'd 887, and honestly, I prefer the look of this wrap over a factory finish. Plus you can remove it later and try a new pattern without paying extra for a factory finish.

Definitely watch the online instructions. They gloss over a bit of the difficult areas, but it will give you a good feel for how to approach the various pieces.
