Mostly as expected with a few small problems

This is a pretty cheap rack, although shipping really adds to the cost. Given that it is cheap, and doesn't have a front crossbar (by design, I'm sure, so tall people can walk into it without ducking), it's stable enough. I might not trust it with 500lbs but it will be a long time before I can squat that, I don't even have that much weight. It's a metal frame that holds a bar, there's not much to it, and it will do it's job in my short basement. The reason why I am giving it 3 stars is twofold. First, it ships with everything wrapped up nicely, except the nuts and bolts, which are freely strewn about the box. I was missing 1 bolt, 2 nuts, and 3 washers. I had to run to Home Depot to grab them before I could put it together. Second, and I didn't notice this until I put it together, but one post has the holes drilled an inch higher than the other posts. I happened to put that one in the back, and it makes the bar and the safety sit unlevel. I can move it to the front, which will help a bit, but that will be more work for me. If yours comes with all the hardware and properly drilled holes, I might consider it a 4, 4.5 star rack (for the price).

Edit 8/7/2013: I contacted the seller (barbells4me) and they quickly replied that they will send me a leg with the proper hole spacing.

Edit: Raised to 4 stars after receiving replacement leg.

Great, Affordable piece of equipment

This rack is an excellent value. Very sturdy and easy to assemble. It is shorter than most power racks to allow it to fit in lower rooms. However, it has plenty of height to accommodate 6' lifters for squats and deadlifts. So, it is a viable option even if you don't actually need the lower height. The company is excellent. Shipping was very prompt and they were accommodating and quick to respond to e-mails. As I said all in all this is an excellent value!! Highly recommended.

Worth the money

I belonged to a gym that had Hoist and Cybex commercial cages. This rack plus shipping was less than a year's membership. I have it in my basement on a 1/4" rubber mat, and it is quite sturdy. Imo, the picture makes the posts look thinner than they are. I turn 50 this year, and I will never lift 600 lbs. of anything, but even if I reach 400, I trust this rack. I squat, benck press and hang clean in it. I'm 5'7" and the only thing I can't do is standing overhead presses. I needed a short rack for the basement, so seated presses will have to do for now. If ceiling height is an issue for you, this will work well.

High quality, just a couple of minor complaints

This is a well-constructed power rack, and I was extremely grateful for its availability, since the ceiling in our basement is very low. Assembly was easier than I expected--it was really a breeze with a socket wrench.

Only two minor issues:
-I would have preferred a bar across the front of the rack for greater stability, even if it wasn't set up as a pullup bar--although I suppose that if I were taller, I would find having to duck annoying.
-Numbers next to the holes would have been nice. I just used a sharpie to write them on myself.

Perfect rack for short ceilings

I have 79" ceilings, so this power rack fits perfectly. It comes in two packages. All pieces were packaged well. It took my son and me about an hour to put it together. One note - the rack wobbled quite a bit when we finished. I loosed all the bolts, then retightened to finger tight, which stopped the wobbling. Then I proceeded to tighten alternating bolts - bottom left, top right, bottom right, top left (which I should've known better to do in the first place). It is now rock solid. As others have noted, the lack of numbered holes is a minor inconvenience, easily solved with a sharpie. Racking and safety pins are very solid, and I have no concerns with the safety aspect when I work out alone. Very pleased with the purchase.

This product arrived a few days before I expected it and I just finished setting it up. It went together well and it is sturdy. It is sufficiently weighty and sits well on the mat that I bought to put it on.

Unexpected things: The cross bar / spotting bar was unfinished metal, the picture shows black finished metal. I don't really care, I prefer it this way slightly. Same for the rack pegs on the back of the cage, they are unfinished metal.

Nothing was scratched and it was delivered in two boxes. I was able to carry them by myself easily.

I set it up by myself with the help of a couple of small clamps. I had exactly the right parts, no extras.

It got to me in a matter days. I put it together by myself in a matter of 45 minutes to a hour that's with bolting it to the ground as well. I modified it so I could do that to make even more sturdy. I'm very pleased with it and look forward to doing a lot of work on it! Great price great buy.

Very nice power rack

As this is the only short (< 7ft) rack currently selling on Amazon, it's really the only option for people in my situation with a low basement. However, the manufacture and parts are surprisingly decent for the price. One post had a bent footing, which had to be hammered out, and one safety is a little tight when securing it. Overall, construction is very dependable, and I'm very satisfied with the performance. You'll need to secure the rack down somehow (I plan on storing plates on the rack), as its relative lack of mass leads to a bit of wobble. The hooks secure at a slanted angle, which allows a loaded bar to roll down, but it's by no means dangerous for this to happen. This is a very decent rack for the price.
