As usual, I could not find one of these in any of the retailers in my area without paying hundreds of dollars, and the few I did find, were cheap looking, and obviously not worth the money. I went on the Amazon website, and found this one, and the price was good, so I ordered it. I was more than pleased when I received it. The body of the polisher is made of metal,(not plastic with metal parts attached) solid metal construction. It has a heavy base, and a heavy duty toggle switch like I have seen in professional grade tools. When you turn it on, it runs smooth and quiet. The axels that hold the buffing pads are made of thick polished stainless steel. Frankly, I would have paid the high prices asked from some of the retailers I shopped before purchasing this one, if the ones they offered were as good as this one. So I won out on both instances, I got a great quality item, and had to pay roughly a quarter the price asked by retail stores.

For the money, this is a very well built buffer. It proved too light at 1/2 Hp for my needs so I ordered a 1 Hp from another vendor because this company does not offer a larger size motor. Otherwise, I would have purchased one from them. This unit is great for polishing small items like jewelry, eating utensils, and the like. It runs smoothly and vibration free. The base is very thin and should have been designed with a heavier base. The mounting holes allowed me to attach it to a Grizzly heavy duty pedestal, which worked well. The unit comes with 2 buffing wheels; one coarse and one fine. If you want a buffer for small jobs, at the price, you can't lose selecting this item.

Was not sure how this was going to work out. Look over a variety of buffers and decided I would try this one out. I was really surprised by how quiet it is and how little vibration there is. I guess I was so used to the old grinder/buffer that I was expecting the same experience.

Only had for a week but for what I need it for, it is doing a great job. If it goes to poop later down the road, I will revisit and update my rating and comments.

One note, it gets hit pretty quick, but does not seem to to be causing a problem as of now.

Works perfectly for my purposes (removing prints from LEGO parts) The speed on the machine was way to high and is not adjustable so I purchases a variable speed attachment and it worked perfect to reduce the speed by the 1/4 i needed. At full speed the motor is very warm, almost hot, after an hour of use. With the speed cut by 1/4 the motor is still cool, barley warm, after an hour of use. machine is very stable and vibration free. I have about 20 hours on the machine so far and it still performs the same as when I first used it.
