By far the strengths of the serger include the speed (1300 spm) and the strength. It will sew all types of material, thick, delicate and several layers. This serger reminds me of a industrial machine but in a domestic frame. Threading can be a problem if you allow the thread to break and have to thread it from scratch. If it is set up properly it sews consistently and beautifully. As with most machines like this one, the manual leaves a lot to be desired. If you have used a serger before it won't be intimidating. For the beginner it requires patience because the manual will not help a lot.

I haven't own a serger before and have looked at many in various places I received this one last week and it is great!! I have completed many projects already that would of been double the time trying to do on a regular machine. It comes with every little thing you need besides thread to start Serging! And at a fraction of the price of most machines :)

I bought this because it was the least expensive one I could find and I wasn't sure how much I would really use it. The old saying -- you get what you pay for -- applies. It works fine, but mine has a problem with the lower looper coming unthreaded. When it sews, it does fine, its just frustrating to have to rethread a serger. If you have done it before you understand. I would spend $50-$100 more dollars and get one of the nicer Singer's or Brother machines that are a little better quality.

I had been hesitant to get one but after much deliberation I can no longer figure out how I got along with out it. It is not too different than other sergers I have tried and threaded especially with the color threading guide.

This machine works better than the $400 model I borrowed from a friend. It comes pre threaded which is fantastic for learning a new machine. Don't let the cheaper price fool you, this machine is worth it. Shipping was so fast I didn't even have time to wonder when it would arrive.

I now have had this Serger awhile. I didn't want to write a review on it until I got the thing figured out. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 star review is the instructions that are included. They where not very helpful in my journey to serge city. Luckily there is the internet and I just Googled any questions I had and low and behold someone somewhere has had the same question as me, so I quickly got answers. Now that I am up and running I love this little machine. My wardrobe has never fit me better! I use it all the time. I read previous complaints that the threads continually brake. I had that problem too, but I wasn't operating it correctly. All I had to do was adjust the tension or check how I threaded it. I haven't had a break in about 3 weeks and I use the thing a lot.

I have never used a serger before and if you are a first timer, this machine does take time to get used to. I think this machine is great and worth the money. Although the instruction manual left me clueless, I was still able to use it, with some patients.
