This same Chinese made small router plane can be purchase from a dozen different sources, under a dozen different names, but they're all the same crude copies of an earlier small router plane. Some samples are good; some are terribly misaligned. None that I've seen are perfectly square, and in every one I've seen the metallurgy of the cutter is pretty bad, too. Yes, they can be made to work, but why bother?

For only $13 more you can buy a small Veritas router plane from Lee Valley that's perfectly machined, easily adjusted, and comes with an excellent cutter made of hardened and tempered O1 or A2 steel that takes a good edge and is easily sharpened. Why play around with junk?

Don't waste your money on this one. While the base was relatively flat (and can be perfectly flattened using sandpaper), the blade was so far out of square with the base as to render this plane worse than useless. Another case of you get what you pay for. I would recommend saving up the money for a decent router plane. Amazon shipping (Prime) was quick and efficient as always.

This plane is exactly what I expected for the price. It is solidly built, but without any of the advanced features of more expensive router planes -- no depth stop, no micro adjuster, no provision for a fence. It is a good, basic tool.

The iron was properly ground, reasonably flat on the bottom, beveled properly, but un-honed. It had a significant chip in the center of the edge, and required some regrinding. The design of the iron prevented me from grinding the bevel on my grinder, so I ground it on 220 grit sandpaper on a granite floor tile. Half an hour's work had the nick removed and the back and bevel honed to 1000 grit and ready to go. I tested it deepening a dado in 3/4" plywood. It smoothed the bottom of the dado and had no trouble with the wood, the glue, the cross grain, or the masonite filler in one end of the dado.

I'm totally satisfied with the plane and recommend it to anyone who is willing to accept that it is a basic, utilitarian tool and not a collector's item.

My new little router plane arrived in a timely fashion. The sole of the router plane was flat & level unlike another reviewer. (I checked it out on a flat marble slab that I use for flattening & sharpening.) The blade is aligned properly but needed to be sharpened... Which I expected. I purchased the router plane on sale & am pleased with my purchase.

Overall it is nice solid little plane. It is excellent value for the money. I found the plane blade a little less than the very best. If you are an occasional user this should meet your needs very nicely. A professional user might want to spend 4 times the money to go into the next class of planes. Overall, I found this to be a very solid little plane

A bit tricky to use though once sharpened does every thing it was meant to do! Not fast just accurate!

I wanted this tool to clean the bottom of dadoes, it did this just as I wanted it to. It is not the top of the line but for what I wanted it does the job.

Without even touching up the blade it works fine right out of the box. Large knurled knob tightens the blade to depth however you'll want a screw driver to tighten it a touch. This router plane is for small spaces not heavy plowing work. I got it for hinge mortises and it does a great job.
