Bottom doesn't really come off that easy

I bougth this so I could remove the bottom part to plug the iPhone into the standard docking station. That's actually the function advertized for this case. The problem is that the top part slides off relatively easily, and the bottom part (the part you want to come off relatively easily) is a bear to remove. So, it didn't really meet the intent advertized. I ended up buying a different dock that works with cases. After just a few months, the case cracked along the narrow edge near the power/volume buttons. Finally, the red paint flecked off and the case wasn't really all that attractive any longer.
