I have been a first responder for over thirty years. I have always had to deal with that wire dangling off my dash or laying on my seat for my emergency light. Built in warning lights are just not in my budget for my vehicles. I thought I would try this light for my pickup truck I do not use all that often. To my surprise the thing is more vibrant than the light I am using in my car right now. And NO WIRE DANGLING! There are no moving parts. The vision of a rotating light is created by electronic switching on and off of LED lights in a repeating clockwise series. The 4-AA batteries are in a battery holder inside the unit. to access the guts of the unit you unscrew the blue dome and lift it off of the base. no tools needed. You can see all the electronics and wires at this point. These things always look like they are so delicate, but they seem to be plenty durable to do their job. There are two magnets that hold it on the car roof and they are plenty strong, but not so strong you would have trouble getting it off. One thing I am concerned about, and time will answer this: The switch located underneath does not look like it was designed to be waterproof. The company makes no claim that it is. If this winds up being a dash mount only light, It is still the best I've seen to date.

Over all this is a nice little portable light. I have placed an additional order for more units. The light output is not what I expected. If the light output was doubled, I would give an excellent rating.
I use these lights to mark the rear of oversize loads. The magnets hold the lights in place very well. I have used the lights on extremly rough unimproved roads in Texas. The lights have not hsd any electronic failures.

This is a LED revolving beacon that can be powered by internal AA batteries or can be powered by an external power source plugged into the jack on the bottom of the unit. The interesting thing about the bottom jack is that it takes an unusual voltage (4.5vdc) instead of 12vdc or even 6vdc that would be a bit more common.

PROS:
- Does not just flash like most LED instead it simulates a rotating beacon which looks much more impressive
- Rotation rate can be adjusted using potentiometer at center of light inside lens assembly
- Rotation can be very fast (like strobe) or very slow to look like old style beacon light
- LED lights virtually never burn out
- Very Bright
- 3 strong magnets on bottom of unit hold it secure to roof
- Can run off of AA batteries or off of external power source via plug on bottom
- Produces no noise or sound
- Has water resistant seal on bottom of lens assembly

CONS:
- Unusual power needs (4.5 vdc) if using external power source

Great product. The light is very bright ... even during the day. The magnet will hold tight to the roof of your vehicle. I bought it back in October of 2012 and the magnet still requires me to strongly pull up with both hands to remove. My vehicle is white and it doesn't scratch the paint. Great buy.

This light rotates electronically using VERY bright multiple vertical arrayed LED's. Fantastic effect, looks just like the older police rotating overhead lights that used a rotating mirror. 4 "AA" batteries power the device ( or it can be powered by a 4.5 volt powercube plugged into the wall-optional)and it has two circular magnets on the bottom to stay attached to a metal surface. On-Off pushbutton on the base. 5 minutes to set it up. Even has an adjustment for speed of rotation. Bright enough to be seen in the sunlight! Looks small here but it isn't. If you want the best rotating LED red light, pay a little more and purchase this one. You will not be dissapointed!
