Other than its good looks, the design of the handle rates high with me. The slide that uncovers the spout is positioned where your thumb will be. This means that you can pour without changing your grip on the handle--just extend your thumb against the slide and it opens. One other benefit is that the handle it well removed from the pour so there is less likelihood that steam or hot water will reach your hand. As for all enameled cookware, it is possible to chip the finish. This has not yet happened to me but give me some time and I'm certain that it will.

It was a Christmas present for my wife and she loves it. The tea kettle was pricey, but worth it. It works as advertised and has a strong whistle. It is really pretty which is good because it sits on the stove all the time. I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality tea kettle.

I was looking for the perfect tea kettle to give as a gift to my wife. I had 5 requirements. 1) It had to be induction cooktop capable. 2) It had to be red - to match the kitchen. 3) I wanted a seamless bottom - for easy cleaning and to prevent sediment collection over time. 4) It needed to whistle. 5) I wanted the spout lid trigger in the handle to help prevent steam burns.

Okay, as advertised this kettle meets the requirements, and given the brand, I was certain that despite the outrageous $80.00 price tag my wife would have the perfect tea kettle.

Not so fast..

-- The "red"... yeah, more like orange. Certainly not what I would call red. Oh, and the color of the handle comes no where near to matching that of the pot. The handle IS what I would call 'red".
-- Induction capable... well, technically. It seemed to take much longer to heat on the induction cooktop than I expected, so I tried the ole magnet trick. The magnet seemed to want to stick, but not well and would fall off - not so on our other induction cookware (same magnet). I'm not sure if the enamel is so thick that it interferes (that would be a good thing) or if the pot is some alloy that is only partly ferrous.
-- Seamless bottom... yes, kudos... no complaint.
-- Whistle... yeah it whistles, but the lid is mostly plastic with a stainless steel whistle insert. For $80.00 they couldn't spring for all stainless? And, there is definitely something wrong with the spout/whistle design. If you've read others' reviews here, many mention dribbling. I thought they were just being a bit whiny. Nope, it will make a puddle on your cooktop. I'm not sure what the issue is, but as the steam starts to build the whistle in the spout slobbers and dribbles.Read more ›

Originally, I thought this was the tea kettle I had been looking for. It seems well made. The color and shape are attractive. The lid is tight. The handle stayed warm.

However, whenever anyone would go to pour it, drops of hot water would leak out the faucet. I tried a variety of solutions to no avail and had to return it. You would not think it hard to make a tea kettle, but I have gone up some dead ends during the search.

Next stop, Cuisenart...

I get compliments on this kettle from every visitor who visits my kitchen! my kitchen color scheme is white and grey (with a lot of stainless steel kitchen appliances). I leave this kettle on the stove at all times since I'm a frequent tea drinker. This kettle is great quality, the water boils super fast and the design is beautiful. It's well worth the price, in my opinion.

I spent hours looking at tea pot reviews. I wanted an attractive, easy to clean, whistling and non dribbling tea pot. It was nearly impossible to find one but I finally chose the Le Creuset in red and had to wait 2 months for it (recently is has been available for immediate shipment).

So how did it do vs my criteria?
- it's very pretty
- cleans easily
- has a whistle that starts out low and goes onto shriek if not removed from stove
- but it dribbles although my husband claims it does not when he uses it

I would buy it again. The dribbling is minor and maybe I have to hold it at a different angle but it's not enough to send back.
