Got these for my garden for growing string beans, sugar snap peas, and snow peas. They are really strong although I did manage to snap one, but that was my mistake of putting the more narrow tip in the ground and pushing too hard. I honestly think they are closer to 9 ft tall, they are slightly longer than my 8 ft raised garden beds. (see picture) All sticks are straight and about 1 inch wide (on average since they are slightly tapered). I love them. I can't wait to see how well they do this season.

The Natural Bamboo Stakes from Hydrofarm really exceeded my expectations. They are fantastic! The 3' and 4' lengths are about 3/8" thick on average and exceptionally strong. These are NOT the flimsy 1/4' - 3/8" stakes you sometimes see in the stores. The 6' lengths (which I also ordered) are extremely strong, high quality and about 1/2" thick. The 6' are great for large peppers, smaller tomatoes (I use concrete reinforcement wire cages on my monster tomato plants), large dahlias. The 4 and 3' would hold up just about anything, as long as they are shorter plants. Very nice product.

These are great! I bought these for my indoor crotons and prayer plants that were growing like the Tower of Pisa. They are firm and even decorative. I have used steel stakes before that were painted green and there is no comparison. If you have a plant that is leaning the wrong way or needs a little extra support I do not know how these could be beat.

What can you say about a bunch of wooden sticks? They are bamboo, they are four feet long, and they are more or less straight. They do the job. One thing I did like which stood out was the packaging. They came in one of those packages that you usually use for rolling up maps, schematics, paintings, and such. Its a tube type package which I find comes in very handy when you want to store the stakes out of the way. Overall, Good Deal. A bit expensive. But a Good Deal.

I'm a somewhat avid gardener. I got the 4 foot version, which is pretty good for staking smaller plants.

They are only so thick, so this would not work well for trying to straighten a larger tree or anything of the sort, you would need metal stakes for that.

However, for smaller purposes, these are nice for smaller shrubs & trees to straighten them up or to force them to grow how you want. Reasonably sturdy, and can be cut to length easily with any standard saw. These will stand up fairly well to weather as well, they will turn a bit greyish and darken, but that's probably good so they blend in with your garden. They are unfinished (no urethane or lacquer).

Overall, I got what I ordered and what I expected.
