I bought this item to keep the guest bathroom door from shutting on my daughter's fingers. I didn't realise it would also keep little fingers from being squeezed in the space between the door and the jam. The door only closes now about 50% - which is great! Easy to place. WIll not mark or do any damage to the door or wall. Highly recommend.

These are easy to use, and work great, and were actually a lot better than I had expected. They keep the door open wide enough so that little hands can't close doors, and so little fingers won't get pinched. For us, it has also worked well in keeping the cat from closing himself in rooms - which he does at least twice weekly! We have a few doors with varying thickness, so I like that these fit right on the hinge, and I don't have to worry about the door being too thick or thin for door guards that just slip onto the door itself.

They work... what else can you say? We have them scattered around the house in doors. They are also good for pets who like to shut the door behind them (ie lock themselves in a room while you are on vacation... cats : /). We like them.

These are the best finger guards. I've tried the foam ones, but these are so much better. I feel much safer with them on the doors instead of the foam ones. I've tested them out, and I really think there's no way my baby would be able to pinch her fingers in either the hinge or the door with this on. And it's easy to use, easy to place and remove, it's great!

So glad I found this. I have an in home daycare and one 18mo little boy who loves closing the door regardless of who might be coming through. With this door guard he cannot even close bodies in the door. Door stays open about 18".

It is possible for the guard to cause the door to be ripped of the hinges if the door is pushed hard in an attempt to close it. Luckily the 18mo thought it was fun to bounce the door (b/c of the guard) rather than insist on it being closed.

We just moved into a "new" house, where we have a very heavy & full-height folding window/doors with metal frames, which, if/when it closes on a windy day, can smash an adult's hands. BUT....kids also like to put their fingers between the jamb and the door, so, they can also smash their fingers at the jamb (along the hinge side). With our little girl running around, we needed to get something, fast, but didn't know which works best....so, we got this along with one from Munchkin, a couple from "Safety 1st". When ordering, however, we thought that something on the latch side might be more effective, instead of on the hinge side,...but...as it turned out, this one by Rhoost is great to be paired with the one from Munchkin....since we found that our little one also has a tendency of putting her fingers between the door and the jamb on the hinge side. So, while Munchkin protects against fingers getting shopped/smashed, immediately before door closing....this Rhoost prevents kids from smashing the fingers between the jamb and the door on the hinge side....BUT...we found that we need to install 2 of these per each hinge (hooked to the hinge, side by side)...to prevent the door from starting to close and pinch our little one's fingers in the jamb. It's also made of durable material so, it doesn't absolve moisture or dirt and is super easy to clean (which is important to us w/ our little ones around). We bought white and black, but found that blacks are easier to keep clean, since they don't look dirty as easily as the white, since we're hooking them over the hinges.
