Lasts a lot longer than the CS-X3 Squash

Color: Black Squash Scent

This is the "JDM squash" scent that is popular in Japan and with Asians. The price off Amazon is actually comparable (and sometimes cheaper) than my local Japanese supermarket, Don Quixote.

This particular air freshener is a more solid gel type, in a plastic tray. The plastic tray has holes in it for the scent to come through. There isn't any adjustment like the very popular CS-X3 air freshener, but the scent of this lasts far longer. It definitely starts out really strong, but after a day or two, mellows out. The tray can be placed on the floor under the seat, even though it comes with some double sided tape to stick somewhere. The gel is solid enough to not spill. There are some other gel type air fresheners that are really wet, but this is not one of them.

For the price, this lasts a lot longer than the CS-X3, which is why I switched over to this. Even opening a single vent on the CS-X3, this far outlasts it. Of course, both are gel type air fresheners, the CS-X3 is a lot more dry, however. I think living in the heat of Hawaii accelerates the rate that air fresheners dry up, especially when I park my car in the sun at work. The heat just dries it up, so if you live in a hot area, you might want to try one of these. The scent lasts a little over a month in the high heat - the CS-X3 only lasts about 2 weeks for me. When I lived in California, I originally used the CS-X3 and it lasted a fairly long time. They don't stand up to the heat of Hawaii very well, which is why I'm glad I found this. If this lasts well over a month in the heat, I'm pretty sure the scent will stay for far longer if you are in a cool environment.Read more ›

Great scent. Some may think it's a bit strong, but I love it!

My daughter and wife complain that the scent is a bit too strong, but I love it. I keep reminding them that it could be much worse without the scent! In any case, I love the citrus smell, and other people have commented on how nice it smells. One person even asked if my kids were eating oranges in the car or something.

I actually attempted to maintain the scent longer by only pealing back about half of the wrap when I opened it. It seems to have worked. After a month, it's still going strong.

Update (12/7/2015) - I tried the "New Car Scent" to see if that would be a bit lighter and appease my wife more. However, I could barely smell that, so I went ahead and bought another one of these. I love it! I will continue to buy this. It makes the car smell so good.

Top Notch Air Freshener!

Color: New Car Scent

I bought this at Formula Drift in Long Beach, CA, and I will be buying these agin here. If you're into the car scene, these are for you. I like the "New Car" scent the most, because it has that "Clean" or "VIP" ambience to it. Keep in mind that, this scent doesn't smell like a new car, but has a pleasant clean scent to it. I've tried others, but nothing comes close to the clean scent, or on how long it lasts. Here's a great tip: do not pull the plastic lining on top of the gel off all the way! I only pulled mine about 1/4 the way, and it lasted nearly three months, with the third month not having too much of a scent, but still there.

Smells Great, Doesn't Last Long

This air freshener worked great. It smells pleasant, and is low profile enough to slide under the drivers seat. It was larger than I expected, so I expected it to last quite a while. Unfortunately, I only got about 20-25 days out of it. I'd expect it to last longer in lower temperatures, but currently it's only in the 80's here in AZ.

I'll certainly be purchasing again, as I enjoyed the smell.

Smooth, subtle, happy scent

Great smell, I've used the Treefrog Squash scent in my car for years and I'm using this in my home. One in the entry way and one in the bathroom, it's such a smooth scent that if your place is clean it really blends well.

Smells good but is very light smell..

I usually order the cs-x3 squash air freshener and bought this one because of some good reviews elsewhere. It is huge and slides under the seat like advertised. The scent is very close to the cs-x3 scent for people who are wondering. Comes in a very sturdy package. I will try to update later to let you know how it lasts.

I have never heard of this product until a coworker of mine mentioned it to me. After I ordered it & stuck in underneath the driver's seat the smell is pretty darn good. I didn't realize how big the air freshener was until it arrived at my house. I wanted something to last a while than just a couple of weeks. It's like a bubble gum smell. I would highly recommended this for anyone.

So to address the first question most people are probably wondering, what is their version of New Car Scent. The simplest way to explain this is the New Car Scent is very close to a sweet crisp and clean Cucumber scent. It is a very light and pleasant scent, almost ethereal, like walking through a forest with a light gentle breeze blowing sweet air around you with scents of cucumber mixed with some sweet flowers mixed in. If you are used to the American style of New Car smell from the little trees you hang on your rearview mirror or leathery scent spray, this is nothing like that. If those smell are what you're after, this isn't for you. If you like clean light, not overbearing scent in your car, this is for you.

In comparison to the Black Squash scent, this is much lighter and weaker. You will have to open all the pores and somehow let a good amount of air flow over it otherwise you may never really smell it at all, unlike the Black Squash where on its own will fill the car with its scent. If you feel the Black Squash to be to powerful, try this New Car scent or the Marine Squash one.

Smells great!

Smells great! I use to always get the Carmate Ocean Spa but it's gotten so expensive, so this is a great alternative and it smells just like it for a lot less.
