The product appears to be of decent quality. My only complaint is that a crucial measurement is missing from this and just about every other description of similar products: the length of pipe protruding from the wall that will be appropriate for a correct installation. In my case, I had 4 inches of ½ inch pipe. I could not find any description of the pipe length that would work, but I did find a description of the spout, giving it as 9.25 inches. Using the eyeball method, it appeared that the diverter came off about half way down so I figured this would work. As it turns out, the 9.25 inches was not the length of the spout but, believe it or not, the plastic/cardboard package it comes in. This seems an absurdly inappropriate way to describe a product. I did use the spout anyway, but now have a gap of about an inch between the end of the spout and the wall. To remedy this will require heating up the end fitting on the pipe, which is silver-soldered to the pipe, cutting an inch off the pipe, and then silver-soldering the fitting back on. This is something I wish I'd known in the first place and it would seem like an obvious piece of information that the manufacturer should have supplied. And, just to be clear, I could not find any spouts that accept 4 inches of pipe, even in retrospect, so I will keep this one. If you have about 3 inches of pipe protruding from your wall, this unit will probably fit well.

I wanted a faucet/spout with a handheld shower attachment option and tried a number of them from homedepot and lowes. all of them ended up with leaks after installing and i had to return them. I have been using this for a week now and it seems to be pretty sturdy without any leak. As another reviewer has mentioned it would have been nice if the assembly inside was copper instead of plastic. It is however a good value for the money. There are two minor issues though. The divertor knob needs a good amount of force to be pulled up to ensure that the water flow is completely diverted. Secondly the water flow isnt smooth and splatters all over the tub like a spray. I would not call these defects but i personally didn't like the construction of the faucet given that it comes from Delta. Make sure you have adequate plumber's tape and a mini hacksaw (to adjust the plastic assembly length to fit flush against the wall) for the job. Overall i am happy with the product and would definitely recommend it.

Hate is an ugly word but this device does not even come close to the Delta perceived quality. I remember when they built stuff to last but apparently they have gone the typical corporate greed route now days. Externally it is pretty good but the real failure is internally. The threaded female adapter that is internal, is a real piece of junk. Can you believe the most critical structural component in the unit is cheap plastic? Is this really a Delta branded product?
Ours made it almost 3 years and this afternoon, while cleaning the tub, the entire spout assemble just falls into the tub. That junk plastic manifold has 4 cracks in the diameter, disallowing the pipe to remain connected. Now I have rigged the shower hose until I can beat Delta up to make them honor their "Lifetime Warranty".
If Delta is the best out there, I feel really sorry for consumers buying anything different.
Looks like I need to take some metal working classes so I can make my own that will actually work and last.
Shame on you, Delta. Your reputation is being destroyed doing stupid stuff like this.

I tried add-a-shower spouts from a couple hardware stores, but they were cheaply built and leaked into the wall no matter what I did. One of them had a plastic hose connection which sprayed water everywhere.

This Delta faucet installed very easily with no leaking. I used a combination of teflon tape and TFE paste on all of the connections.

Unlike some other faucets this has plenty of wiggle room so you can get it "just right" against the wall and facing downward.

My only complaint is that the shower connection is facing downwards, so I had to buy a longer hose.

I purchased this faucet to replace my "stock" tub spout to give me a hose output for bathing my dog.

*Before I go any further it should be noted that I have an average 85-90psi water pressure where I live, as a result, some of the issues I had my not apply to all who read this; that being said...
-While the hose outlet works fine, the regular tub spout position leaves a lot to be desired; With my standard tub spout, the water flowed fast and full, but with this faucet in the tub spout (down) position, the water flow is substantially restricted and emits a loud [very annoying high pitched] whirring sound. The flow is restricted enough to allow water to "leak" up the line and out of the shower head. To fix this, I installed a ball valve before the shower head to force all the water out of the tub spout/hose outlet.

Another thing I felt was worth mentioning is that the threaded inlet is shallower than a standard tub spout, so [depending on the spout you are replacing] you may need to purchase and install a different length pipe nipple from the in-wall piping to your new tub spout. In my case, my "stock" pipe nipple was 5", which I needed to replace with a 4" nipple in order for the new spout to mount flush against the shower wall.

Bottom Line: It does what it should, and for most people it should work just fine. For some people (like me) with high water pressure it may require some additional parts for the whole tub/shower system to work as you want, and you may have to replace the tub spout pipe nipple with a different length to install it. But it does what it should, it works well, and it looks nice doing it!
