This is the exact replacement part for a shower unit that was installed 25 years ago. It was extremely difficult to find this part. It is made for the 'peg' style hand-held showers rather than the 'slip into the collar' types made today. Is solid, not cheap plated plastic, made to same quality of the original.

My original mount from Delta finally broke and bit the dust. When I received this replacement part, I realized it was a significant upgrade from the original: all chrome plated metal versus the old metal-and plastic combo of the original. It fits perfectly in place of the original, and I suspect it will easily outlast my ownership of my house.

If I had to list a con, I would mention that the screw that controls the tension on the swivel tends to back/loosen if you swivel it a lot. But you can get around that 2 ways: either don't swivel it a lot (which is what I did), or put a dab of Locktite Blue on the screw threads before you tighten it, then leave it alone to dry. Easy workarounds, and in my opinion, this minor complaint does not detract significantly from an otherwise quality product, so I think it's still worth 5 stars.

Solid, well-constructed swivel mount for handheld shower. Purchased to replace original plastic mount that had very limited use but still cracked in half. Was unable to find this part at any of our local home centers and was so pleased to find it on Amazon. This chrome mount is more rugged and of higher quality than the original & will definitely never break in two as the plastic version did. I would recommend it as a good investment with lifetime return.

Matches the old Alson shower hand held mount. It's well made and has a tension screw for adjusting the hand held head up and down. It's a perfect fit for the Alson's which was cheap plastic and hard to fit over the Alsons BAS4BX Bar Slide.

If I where to make an engineering design, I would change the ability to adjust the receptacle pitch with something other than a screwdriver. I usually don't carry a screwdriver in the shower with me! :-))

This was the perfect piece to complete my shower system, and it feels a lot sturdier than the plastic ones. Easy to install. The pivoting part is pretty tight and not infinitely variable. It seems to have either a tight or a loose setting -- couldn't get anything in between. But it WILL pivot on tight-mode, just not as easily as I had hoped.

I spent more money to get better quality. Metal vs plastic. These are built well but the shower angle is wrong. When you have it tilted up to shower with, it points the shower hose out at you. The weight of the hose with water at that angle pulls down on the shower head and the hose is in the way Terrible design. I am going back to the plastic one, which has the hose pointed down with the showerhead up in the proper position. Dont waste your money. I dont know why they wouldnt copy the plastic pin design/angle but who knows.
