Fits The Bill

I am pleased with this purchase. The packaging was awesome and the delivery was very quick! I use this stereo on a daily basis and really like it a lot. It has all the features I wanted (cd player, cassette player, radio, iPod dock, USB). It suits my needs just fine. There are a few things you might want to consider when buying this stereo, however. The sound is great, however, not really loud. It works for me, though, because my home isn't that big (1600sf). If you are wanting BOOMING sound, look elsewhere. The remote sensor is no where near sensitive, in that, you have to be relatively close to the system and point it exactly at the sensor (if you can find it) to get it to work. Lastly, I get better FM reception in my car (and on other systems) than I do on this stereo...and that is rather frustrating. All in all, these aren't big deal-breakers for me because, as I said, it suits my purposes. The iPod dock is the main reason I wanted this system and it was at a price I thought was worth it. Plenty of bass (and if not, you can turn on the X-Boost). The items listed are the only reasons I didn't give a 5-star rating...but I still really enjoy it.

VERY NICE LITTLE HI-FI SYSTEM

I purchased this for my Mother several months ago, as her mini-hi-fi had finally given up the ghost. This system is very easy to set up, requires minimal effort in setting up, and the best thing of all, it sounds great. It pulls in stations very well, although I would probably like a better antenna than the one that they provide. I may get a better antenna some time down the road. The 5-disc CD changer is really great; my Mom's former system was a 3-CD changer, and this definitely ups the playing time, which I regard as an excellent feature. Also, the changer is not a carousel-type, it has little drawers, which makes the unit more compact.

My Mom does not have an iPod, nor do I, so we have not tried this part of the system, but I'm certain that it should do what it does. Probably the only thing I would like on this system is an auxiliary input, so that I could run television sound through the great sounding speakers and subwoofer.

It's a great little system!

Great little machine.

Bought this system to replace RCA unit that CD player stopped working. Have owned Sharp products before and found then to have better/more features that actually work. I am impressed with this unit, it has plenty volume to be heard over my entire 2400 square feet home. The controls are fairly easy to master after a review of the operating instructions included with the unit. Overall, I find this unit very appealing and functional for the price.

Looks awesome, but fails in the function

I was extremely disappointed with this product. It has a Wow! premise and a Zowie! look about it. Within 10 days the CD player jammed, and is still jammed. The CD's inside are not accessible, so more lost money. This item was not damaged in shipping, was not set up incorrectly or abused. It simply stopped functioning. Admittedly, the iPod continues to play. A much less expensive unit could have been purchased if that was all I wanted. Total waste of money...and not cheap.

Pretty good, but not great

This has all the functions we wanted - cassette, radio, CD, iPod dock - but it does have some flaws. When playing songs from our iPod, there is background fuzzy noise. This noise disappears when we turn the volume all the way down, so there is something about the input from the iPod (doesn't matter which of our iPods we use, either) that causes noise. We sometimes also hear the noise when playing CDs, too.
Basically, you get what you pay for: this is affordable, but it's not the highest quality.
