This review is probably the most honest review you will get on a cheap iPhone dock like this one. To start off I love this product. I have probably tried buying 7 diffrent cheap black iphone docks and none of them have worked like ths one. this was the only dock i found that worked and held any iphone even with a case on it. it came in less than a week in the mail and looks great on my desk as well as functions well. This only issue i have is that when you take the iphone out of the dock you have to hold the dock down so the iphone doesn't lift it up. I would recomend getting the "USB Wall Charger +6 Foot Black Long Cable Charging Cable for ALL iPhone, iPad, iPod & iTouch" black charging brick that comes with a 6ft long black iphone/ipad cord, with this product.

I've had this dock for a couple days now, and for the couple dollars I spent on this thing it seems to work fine. I have an iPhone 4 and it fits, the standard apple cable that attaches to the base works just fine (not sure what the other reviewer was complaining about), and it holds my phone fine. It's not as solid as the real Apple dock, and if you tap your device while docked it wobbles a little but it's not like it loses connection or anything. Since it is not a solid base it does shift (i'm already thinking about ways to make it heavier so it stays in place).

The line out jack seems to work fine but I noticed that there is a bit of hum when headphones are plugged in and no music is playing. It's not a big deal for me since I am only using this thing to keep my phone upright on my desk but if you are planning to run speakers from this, it might bother you. Also, since it is line out you cannot control the volume through your device. Well, I couldn't at least.

All in all it does what I wanted it to do, so I guess I can't really complain. 1 star removed for the wobbliness and 1 star removed for the line out situation.

Pros: Cheap and it works.

Cons: Light, wobbly when touched, and line out hums

I would probably buy another one if i needed it.

Although the iPhone 4s will fit into the cradle, the iPhone 4s usb cable that connects it to a computer does not fit.

It fits my iPhone 3GS (AT&T) as well as my brother-in-law's iPhone 4G (Verizon). It connects to the Apple sync cable, and has a line out port. The only drawback I have noted is that my iPhone is silent while in this dock. I'm assuming that the audio is being diverted to the Line-out port which I intend to connect to my Line-In on my PC's soundcard.

I read the reviews before I purchased and most said that the charging worked and some had issues with the sound. I decided I'd take a chance because if the sound did not work, I would still be OK, as long as it charges.

It does not work. I have a 3GS and I'd break my phone if i shoved it in. I will contact the seller IGet to tell them what a piece of crap their product is and ask for a refund.

It does not matter if something is "cheap" - you expect it to work and sellers should not be on here selling items that do not work,

Obviously, I'd recommend that you do not buy - unless you have enough money to burn and enjoy throwing it away.

Please, I am warning you, do not buy this product! I bought this product and the first time I put my iPhone in the dock, all of the electronics fell out from the bottom of the dock. Not only that but the back 30-pin connection port doesn't even fit! This is a waste of money and a waste of time. I am returning this product because it didn't even function as said and it is a very cheap product! I know this product was only $3 but companies shouldn't be selling this type of stuff!

I wanted a dock to make my life a bit easier when working out of my office and listening to my iPhones iTunes library through by studio speakers.

I did not need it so much for the ability to charge my phone, but I liked that it had this feature also.

So here is what I've come to find...

I tried to hook the dock's audio out port to my speaker system, and to my surprise, it did not work!

Just for the hell of it I plugged the power connection port into an outlet to see if this would make it work. Yup! This dock needs the power connected for it to output the audio through the unit. Once you plug the power in you can then unplug it and the audio will still come through the unit (until you disconnect your iPhone of course).

This being said, I winded up leaving the power connected at all times.

The dock seems to charge my phone pretty slow. I think this may have to do with the fact that my screen does not go to sleep when I connect it to this dock unless I force the screen off by pressing the power button. But even when I do this, it charges slower than usual.

Once the connection is made and the audio is being sent through the Dock you CAN NOT adjust the volume! It automatically is sent through at 100% volume. It does not matter if you had the volume on the phone set at 40%, it will still come through at 100%. There is no volume adjuster on the unit itself and pressing the iPhone's volume buttons does nothing at all when connected to the dock. This was a bummer since the volume adjuster on my speakers are difficult to adjust (behind each individual speaker on my studio desk which I can not move).Read more ›
