Using this adapter, my old desktop computer was able to pick up the wifi signal when the router was in the same room, but I could not get a workable signal when the router was moved to another room. I know it wasn't a router problem since my other devices connected from the same distance away. This made the adapter unusable for my intended purpose. Monoprice's customer service, though, was excellent. They took it right back.

I needed an adapter while my new wifi laptop adapter was shipped. It was great but it took forever for the adapter to start working. I usually had to wait about 5 minutes before I could finally click on Chrome. However it was small and out of the way and kept a steady signal no matter where I was at in my two story townhome. I only took off the two stars for the long wait. Other than that, it worked flawlessly and the installation was simple. Some people would probably need to look at the steps continuously to get it up and running.

This is my second purchase of this Monoprice wireless USB adapter and I am satisfied with it. The installation is easy and the speeds are fine for normal web browsing and for videos. The first one I bought had problems dropping the signal periodiacally, but that was getting a signal from a Verizon JetPack. Hopefully, the signal is stronger now with a real wireless router and I won't have that problem anymore. But, you cant beat the price and the size of this wireless adapter.

Works perfect, just don't install the full realtek software. Once plugged in, use device manager to "point" to the appropriate driver. The realtek software seems to drop connections.

Seems to be real slow.... built-in G wifi works much faster.

Is this the reincarnation of 802.11 B ? It's certainly slower than G and light years behind N for the 2 I bought.
