Rockwool works really well to tame a bouncy room, without breaking the bank in the process. I built some nice oak frames and covered the wool with fabric. Looks totally pro, works totally pro, costs 1/4 what prefab panels cost.

This stuff did exactly what I needed it to. I record in a small bedroom and the reflections were killing my projects. 6 pieces of Roxul placed around the room gives me the 'dead' sound I need so my mics only capture what I want them to capture. Decent price too compared to OC 703.

I am using this for sound attenuation inside a frame with a cloth cover. It arrived as scheduled and works wonderfully. Easy to work with and not itchy like fiberglass. A tip for cutting -use one of those inexpensive utility knives that extends out to about 2-1/2 inches and a straight edge. Cuts like butter and you can cut all the way through in one pass.

They really are boards! I'm using them for corner bass traps and once they were covered with an open-weave fabric, they worked a treat. They audibly tamed the bass response in my studio. The enclosed warning to use a NIOSH O95 respirator is a bit concerning. I think it's probably a good thing to do if you're working with mineral wool a lot.
