The first use and set up, probably a 2 to 3 as far as ease of adjusting it. The laptop has to be taken off and set aside as you have move each section individually which causes the laptop to fall off if you haven't removed it. Pretty clumsy and cumbersome to lower and raise. However, once you've set it at the height (for standing at my desk, in my case) I'd rate it around an 4 or 4 1/2. It sits up high enough if I need to sit down to write, I can place the document on the desk underneath it with plenty of room between the document and the pen/my hand. Also, it is so light, if I need to sit down with the laptop for an extended amount of time I just take the laptop off, push the stand back and put the laptop on the desk. Just as easy to reverse with out needing to adjust. Overall, once I got it set to the height I needed, I really like it and use it every day. Thanks again for getting it for me!!

This laptop stand is exactly what I wanted! I needed a stand that would lift my laptop about 12" above my 30" high desktop so that I could stand for part of my workday. I like to stand while logging on to my computer, reading and sending email, reading news articles, or reviewing documents. (For heavy-duty computing with a mouse, I prefer to sit at my desk. There is no place for a mouse on this stand so I have to use the annoying touchpad on my laptop.) Now I spend at least 30% of my workday standing.

I may buy another one for my home so that I can use it while reclined on a sofa or bed. I tried the stand like that before bringing it to my office. It was nice to have the laptop up off of my lap while surfing the net - easier to see and not so hot!

The all-black stand looks great with my gray and black laptop and docking station. Looks much better than the cardboard box I was using and now I can put papers under it and reach things on my desk behind my laptop.

The protractor-like markings on each "joint" of the stand were very helpful when getting it adjusted to hold my laptop. It's not super-easy, but I only have to do it once. It will stay in this position for years.

Other posters mentioned that the stand was unstable or flimsy when it is set up to be "tall". Not at all! I don't push it sideways, but it is fine with my 17" laptop, power station, and docking station (a total of 12 to 14 lbs??) on it. I am careful to supporting the flat portion with my other hand when pressing down on the back to dock my computer for charging and connecting to the network.

My coworkers all want to order one!

Will adjust to almost any position you can think of. It can accommodate the largest laptops. The legs feel a little flimsy, but work just fine. Legs are plastic and the shelf is metal.

I am using this while writing this review and its very ergonomic to use this stand where ever you are in home.
You can't get a better way to use laptop if you are on bed or sofa or on the floor.
But first you need to understand the alignment technique which is not so easy initially.
You need to move both sides joints together to get it right, but it is difficult if laptop is already on it. so you need to support the laptop with your third hand :) or thighs to realign it.
I will recommend this product who use laptop a lot at home.

Came on to reorder another one as mine is finally breaking. Good news is shows I ordered it just over 3 years ago so I think that is fairly good. I do abuse it a lot. Moving it, hitting keys and some banging keys with gaming. So why it gets the 4 stars for 3 years. It would have got 5 had it made 5 years :) I recommend. I am purchasing another. Just not here though. I found same one less expensive with free shipping. Do a search before buying to make sure.

This is great, I'm using it right now to type this review. It totally eliminates sore muscles and fatigue because it brings laptops up to eye level (speaking of which, its great for watching movies in bed). I recommend collapsing it every time you're done using it and then trying new positions the next time, I'm still discovering new ways to use this thing, its shapeshifting abilities are crazy. The only downside is that the materials feel a little cheap, I'm very gentle with it out of fear that its going to break but nothing has happened yet!

This is a solid, versatile stand that works for anything from laptops to heavy text books. It's a great option if you are focusing on improving your posture. I am tall and have some neck issues, which this helps quite a bit to alleviate.

The only negative I can think of is that changing the stand's position is a little inconvenient - not difficult by any means, but sometimes it feels like you need an extra hand. I consider this a minor inconvenience in an otherwise great product, so I still give it 5 stars.
