Let me be clear: this works perfectly fine for electrical applications or elsewhere you don't need a soldered joint to look like much. However, the flux core in this solder makes a very ugly ring around the joint. Given that I use this probably equally as much for soldering my wife's charm bracelet charms as for electrical work, that's not a desirable outcome.

Yes, I know this is not the 100% correct tool for the job. And a careful application of some jewelry polish can deal with most of the flux residue. But other brands of lead-free silver-bearing solder I've used for the same purpose haven't had this issue.

I didn't realize how thick it is. I must say I am not used to work with the sliver solder; and find it hard for fine electronic work which I bought it for. But it is as advertised. I don't use silver solder for usual electronics. I was making a circuit for microphone, thus this choice.

Bought this solder as I do not like the lead fumes of more traditional lead based solder, Obviously no fumes are great, but lead is for sure toxic. Using it for electronic work, and other obviously needing a bit more heat, it works great, and holds great on connections. Great silver solder, great price, really not more to say than that.

Worked great for knife making, held brass or nickel guards in place well. Any flux works well to, though amount of solder is small, but will solder a dozen or two guards with ease. I have solder 4 guards with it thus far.
