These are fantastic! I bought them to help me cut down on the time I was spending tying knots in ropes each time I went to the lake to uncover and then covered back up the water toys with tarps. Having these cut the time and frustration by over 70% Also, these have the spring clips on the hooks so they can't pop out when the wind shakes the tarps. They are very secure and very strong for the size. The other consideration if you are looking at cost because these aren't cheep is that the old cords and ropes from the big box stores also sun rot and fray and have to be replaced often - I understand these are made with parachute cord that is treated to minimize sun damage. Well worth the money from my perspective.

I picked up a couple of these when I was going camping last summer. For any who have camped in the Pacific NW in summer you know sun isn't a guarantee. I used these for tying down my tarp over the table. These are light duty but even with a light breeze these held my tarp in place. Adjustments to the rope were easy as pulling on the rope to tighten and flipping a metal lever to let out more rope. Six feet of rope was sometimes limiting and I would have preferred 10-12' of rope but when I needed it longer I used regular rope to make a loop around the stake or tree and then attached the rope lock tie down to the end of the loop. The rope lock mechanism seems pretty well constructed. The body and hooks are plastic with a metal (assuming aluminum) rope lock. I would buy again and definitely recommend to anyone needing a light-duty quick and easy option to tying down tarps and the like.

I have a large sports umbrella (Sport-Brella XL+ Umbrella Stand Bench Buddy) I use in the bleachers for outdoor sports. It is always windy in the spring time and tie downs are a must. These tie downs can handle a lot more wind, easy to adjust, attached quickly, and stay tight with zero tampering. The only downside is 6ft is a touch too short on the front since I'm using the ties on bleachers (8-12ft would be perfect). It looks like 6ft would be plenty if the umbrella was used on level ground. I might purchase extra 550 cord and add a few more feet to the hooks.

I thought these would be more heavy duty. Good product for what I paid but they are not at all for heavy loads. The sting is just one step above shoelace material. Great for bird feeders or humming bird feeders.

They are not suitable for prolonged use outside. I used these to secure my ladder to my ladder rack. They work but rust formed quickly and one of the clips broke after 2 months of use. Still a good deal for the money.

Exactly as advertised. Works well. But be aware if you are considering buying these, they are light duty. They are not for hoisting anything, but for tie downs of things like tents or bags. I would hesitate doing anything like attaching a heavy object to a roof rack or to hang a canoe from the ceiling. They might work fine, but....

I use these with my sun shade that I hang over the back yard for events. It make hanging anything a breeze because you can easily adjust the length or tension. By the way the sun shade is 16 feet by 16 feet and these hold it fine on a windy day. Tough and convenient.
