This looks great, being a perfect match for our Schock-Houzer sink.

But understand it does not replace the disposer's retainer ring. Tis presses down OVER the disposer retaining ring. That means it sits higher than the floor of the sink, which means all the water wil not drain out of the sink. You'll have to use a towel or rag to absorb the water retained in the sink each time you use it, unless you want standing water in your sink.

We purchased a Houzer Madison sink, and this flange was a suggested accessory. We installed the recommended InSinkErator garbage disposal, and this flange was intended to cover the ?unsightly? stainless steel drain.

Installation is easy: it simply rests in the drain hole, direclty on top of the stainless disposal drain. I was skeptical before purchaing this that it would fit flush enough to let water drain freely into the disposal, and these fears were soon confirmed. MOST of the water will drain, but a noticeable amount of water (equal to the added depth of this item) remains in the bottom of the sink.

I also purchased the Shock Houzer 190-9265 for the non-dispoal drain, and it looks and works great. As for this item, we opted to discard it, and have quickly adjusted to the look of the InSinkErator's stainless steel drain cover. It looks great, and we don't even notice the difference any more.

This item DOES appear to be high quality, it matches the related 190-9265 drain, and it matches our sink perfectly, but it's only two-stars for poor functionality.

I wish that I had headed the warnings from other reviewers. Because this fits down over the existing drain flange the water does not drain completely. I do not believe this is explained in their discription of the product. It leaves approximate 2 1/2 inch ring of water pooled around the flange. It's easy to take out to drain the water but this is not realistic or should be necessary. The color is perfect match to the Nero swanstone sink but if I had to do it over again I would have bought satin nickel drains to match my faucet. Very disappointed this is just basically a cap to fit over flange. The part for the non disposal side is a full piece, not a cap and it drains the water just fine. I do not recommend purchasing this product.

This item is NOT a disposal flange, as described. It is a plug that goes into a disposal flange making it appear to have a black disposal flange. In use it raises the height of the drain so that water stands in the sink, not good, I returned it and bought a black disposal flange from Insinkerator.

UPDATE! I have had this strainer and the matching drain strainer installed for over a year now. The problem is that I take them out a couple of times a year to clean them and have found that the rubber gasket that holds them in place stretches out will no longer hold these things in place. I contacted the Houzer Co. about buying a replacement gasket and was emailed by Tracy Kowalski
Customer Relations Manager that they don't have replacements for the gaskets and that I should go to a hardware store to buy a replacement. This might be an option in whatever country these are made in but the last time that I was at my local hardware store they did not carry any rubber gaskets for Houzer products. Mine are now in my trash bin. So in summary, if you install these things, never ever take them out or just buy new ones every year or better yet buy another brand..

got the wrong thing. in a remodel job you can't determine when the installers are going to get to installing because so many things go wrong so 'after the 30 day return policy' we discover they sent 2 sink strainers instead of one sink strainer and one disposal flange as requested. FRUSTRATED that all that pops up is 'too late to return' - just not right.

If this would have sat low enough in my sink drain to be lower than the bottom of my sink then I would have loved this. Unfortunately, it was just a bit high and left puddles of water in my sink which left hard water stains.

This product is a huge let down. Plastic drain sleeve is too short - it fits loose - and the thickness at the top edge might prevent water from draining properly. I still used it because it matches the color, but I will most likely be throwing it out once I get a real sink drain set for this sink, and not a plastic flange cover.
