For Flavored Coffee Buffs, This Is About As Good As It Gets!

Let me start by saying that I have not normally gone far out of my way to get flavored coffee. I love the taste of good coffee either black or with cream. Now and then, though, I do like a change of pace and then I generally go for chocolate flavored coffee. I used to live in Oregon, an area served by Safeway, and their house brand chocolate flavored coffee was excellent. Now that I'm in Ohio I hadn't found a good substitute until I stumbled on Godiva's Chocolate Truffle Coffee, which is just as good. Mysteriously, I can't find it via Amazon or elsewhere online for much less than $14 for 10 oz., which is ridiculous since I can buy it from my local Giant Eagle grocery store for about $8 or $9 for 12 oz.!

I've ordered Cameron's Woods and Water a few times and find it to be a superior coffee at a great price, so I respect the brand. They know how to roast coffee. I was shopping for coffee on Amazon and noticed the Cameron's also makes a flavored coffee called Chocolate Caramel Brownie. Intrigued, I ordered it. And the price was right, too: $21.33 for 3 x 12 oz. bags, which makes it actually a bit less expensive than the Woods and Water, which is $21 for 32 oz. (the price varies with sales).

It arrived quickly even though it came cheapest way (gotta love Amazon for their swift deliveries!). I brewed a cup immediately, sat down in my favorite chair, and sipped it black. No sugar or cream. It was great. I also sensed it would stand up to being brewed strong, so I have been making it strong. As one of the other reviewers noted, it's also good cold. Just today I made a tall one, went away for a few hours after finishing half, and tasted the other half when I got back. Still good!

great flavor

The flavor of this coffee is great, it's not over-powering to the point that I can't use my flavored creamers with it. It adds a hint of nut to the coffee and is becoming a favorite flavor of those who come to our house and drink it.

Amazing coffee

I purchased this flavor because it sounded exotic and unusual - a butter flavored coffee called grog? Who wouldn't be curious about the flavor. Well, since then I have purchased many bags of this coffee. The flavor makes the house smell of butter caramel when it is brewing. My daughter especially loves this flavor, it is one of her favorites. This coffee also mixes well with cocoa for a very buttery mocha. I haven't tried to use it yet as a marinade, but that's my next plan.

Good stuff... and I ain't no Nancyboy!

Like most people, some of my tastes have their roots in social programming. Exposure to black and white gumshoe detective movies and any words ever uttered on film by Clint Eastwood have left just enough of an impression on my psyche that I generally take my cup of joe strong and black. I literally refuse to ever learn the Starbucks language. This, for no other reason than I simply cannot visualize Humphrey Bogart in a trench coat and a fedora slamming a sawbuck down on a Starbucks counter and telling the barrista, "Gimme a half caff grande mocha latte frapucinno with a double shot of espresso."
Deep down, I've internalized the story that says a man takes his coffee rotgut strong. Maybe even finishes the dregs of the pot that's been sitting for a couple hours. A man don't need any stinkin' sweetner for his coffee, whattaya think I am a Nancyboy or somethin'?
But hey, I'm mostly enlightened now. I realize that when it comes to eating and drinking, if I am honest with myself, I have to admit Yummy is better!!

I can triumphantly say, I tried this stuff based on the delightful sounding name, and a review by someone who's opinions tend to be spot-on... Shiloh True "Rabid Reader" As per usual, she was right again. I took her tip on mixing in some dark roast and ended up with some very yummy tasting, good strong java. After all, I do like my coffee strong. Whattaya think I am some sorta Nancy boy?

Great...if you Must Drink Decaf

Due to some ongoing stomach issues of late, I've had to minimize the amount of caffeinated coffee I drink each day. As such, I decided to give the Cameron's Decaf French Roast a try, just to see if I could handle decaf for my late morning cup-o-Joe. I am very happy to report, I can - easily. I am a BIG fan of the Cameron's roasts, having enjoyed the high-octane French Roast version for quite a while now. Switching at least partly to decaf, a task which I've not enjoyed in the past, I thought I'd at least give Cameron's a shot. This coffee is fantastic, and I honestly cannot tell the difference between the high octane and this version. As a long time coffee fanatic, I can tell you assuredly that with almost any coffee drink I've had over the years, I KNOW if it is decaf or regular. This coffee is indistinguishable, and tastes GREAT! It is highly recommended for those poor souls, such as me, who must start incorporating more decaf into their lives. As a bonus on Amazon - it is subscribe and save.
