I read a lot of negative reviews for this product, and I was skeptical. But my level of desperation was higher so I went for it.

It works! Well, with my cat, at least. I used the dabber top to neatly roll the stuff (which I can't even smell at all) onto the telephone chord that goes into my modem, and kept it in the corner of my eye as I went about my day.

Results? Mr. "The World is My Chew Toy" (not his real name) went up to it as usual...sniffed, licked...and instead of proceeding to NOM, he did the "Oh dude, gross! Blech!" face. It was quite adorable, actually.

I've since left it out instead of putting it away when I leave, and I'm happy to say that it's still in one piece.

Give this stuff a try, it could make you smile really big, too. :D

We have been having terrible problems with our male cat over grooming at the area above the base of his tail for months now. Enough that he has created sores and fur loss all around his back end we have tried everything to stop it. I was at the point of hauling him to the city to see a dermatologist or chiropractor, it was desperate measures time! Finally this Bitter Apple used in combination with other products has stopped him and he has healed up. We are convinced it was a psychological not physical issue, as the vet could not come up with anything in particular, so we needed to break the habit.

We ended up getting this to stop him from over grooming in the affected area and used it with Terrasil Max Wound Care (a silver oxide healing paste) which healed the wounds, then ResiCort (1% Hydrocortizone lotion) to stop the irritation, for a few days and the Bitter Apple was put over both of these every time we applied them saturating the area. You can really tell from the faces he makes that he does not like the taste at all and so it has worked a treat.

So from a desperate cat owner at her wits end, I cannot recommend this highly enough, it will now be a permanent part of our cat care program. Our boy seems to be a little OCD about grooming and this seems to be the best pet safe solution.

The bottle has a nice little dabber top (like a bingo marker) which makes it easy to dab on things. Our cat likes to chew on stuff and it's really annoying. I put this on all corners of furniture and on cords (especially chargers). He's a real butthole with his little habit and this fixes him right up.

It is an alcohol extract and dries perfectly with no sticky residue. But he knows it's there. Sometimes I even put it on my face at night as he likes to bite my chin while purring ferociously when I'm asleep. He won't bother me if I apply a bit of this.

Great for teaching cats with bite fetishes to behave.

This bitter apple solution keeps the cats away while it's wet, and maybe for a couple of days afterwards. I used it on various cords, cables, and wires, including power cords.

But my cats have no concept of property rights, i.e., which is mine and which is theirs. It's ALL theirs. And for some reason, their idea of the best use for their things is to hone their skills as hunters by destroying them. And no matter how I try to tell them, they don't know about electricity. They have wire-cutter teeth and love to disable my electronics. They cut the cords in several places with sloppy, chewed cuts, plus chewed holes randomly placed along the cord.

I've applied this bitter lemon stuff all over and it doesn't make much difference. I think it just adds a little spice to their chewing exercises and maybe even encourages them a little. After all, I like bitter lemon - maybe they do too? And the dabber tip is pretty useless for covering things like wires and cords.

So instead I'm using Sriracha; I squirt it on my fingers and rub it up and down the wires, tapes, and everything else the little demons like to destroy. Red peppers keep their fire for a long time, so I'm hoping it'll do the trick. I think most any hot sauce would work, but Sriracha is gooey, easy to apply and covers the area solidly.

In a way, I hate to ruin their fun... but they still have everything else in the house, and they know it!

My cat had destroyed hundreds of dollars of macbook chargers and other cords, so I picked this up from PetCo. It smells like expo whiteboard cleaning spray, so my cat now steers clear of cords. I can leave her in my room all night and not worry about her eating my charging cables. I take the lid off and put it on a paper towel to apply. Well worth the $10!

It works pretty well. My cat keeps biting the cables I put it on, then backing up and making a sour face. It doesn't seem strong enough to deter him permanently but he'll only bite it for a few seconds before deciding it's not worth his time (and come back at some point later) which is enough to keep my cables from being bitten clean through like normal. I tried touching my tongue to the cable about a week later and a slight sour flavor remained so it doesn't wear off at a rate that would be annoying either.

Edit: well it was working for a while I think my cat has developed a taste for the sour though, I caught him licking a cable and making a puckering face over and over. :( dang. well it kinda gave him a few weeks of not attacking cables and i think it helped dissuade that behavior some because when i first brought him home all he wanted to do was chew on them
