    The lambskin lining is very soft as are the leather uppers. They really do fit like a glove. At first fitting I thought they were a bit narrow but that actually proved to be a good thing as they are more stable and resist rolling underfoot on a heeling deck. At this price though, I was dreading getting them dunked in saltwater, which in fact happened this past weekend. They dried nicely without any stiffness. Obviously they are well oiled and didn't absorb any water. I was sailing in relatively warm weather and did not notice them to be warm, even with the lambskin liner, so that's not a concern. Even the laces are soft and thick, and hold the knot well without slipping like other, stiffer laces on cheaper shoes. Highly recommend over the standard topsider.

    I have owned two pairs of Sperry's Top-Siders that were not gold cups and finally I convinced myself to buy a Gold Cup shoe about a year ago and it was so worth it! Needless to say, I am now buying my second pair. The deer skin inside it what makes it worth it because your feet are warm, yet not hot. If you have worried about rubbing on the back of your heal, I have found that the deer skin makes it less of an issue and I can wear these longer than I can a non-gold cup version. The only two gripes I have with this most recent purchase was that I ended up ordering two shoes before I got one that: didn't look warn and had been placed correctly on the sole of the shoe. I am insanely careful with my shoes, but with this pair I tripped and it ripped the leather lining that you can see attached (glued) to the soul of the shoe, I'm sure you can fix it with a leather repair cream, so be careful! These shoes are much more softer due to the memory foam inside compared to a non-gold cup Sperry and once they are broken in, they really become even more comfortable to wear. Maybe I am bias, but Sperry really does make the best boat shoe.

    So my advise: just buy it from Zappos website instead of Amazon because then if there is something wrong, you can still return it free of charge, unlike if you buy it through Amazon.

    Overall, none of this has deterred me and I will definitelly buy another pair of Gold Cup Top-Siders again.

    I own a pair of the A/O Sperry Top Sider MADE IN MAINE collection and I recently purchased this Gold Cup Navy A/O. Compared to the MADE IN MAINE shoes, the Gold Cup are amazing and half the price of the MADE IN MAINE ones.

    I love the details in the Gold Cup shoe. and they have the same double stitching as the MADE IN MAINE shoe.

    This is the top of line model from Sperry Top-Sider, the "Gold" series. The key differences between the this model are the memory foam insole and wrap-around deer skin leather for the inside of the shoes. Since most people wear these shoes w/o socks, it is very important to minimize any rough spots with the softer deer skins. Also all the grommets are gold plated to fight corrosion from moisture/salt water hence the "gold" model. The overall fit is very comfortable compared to other models and required little or no break-in period. Once you tried the "gold" model, it is harder to go back to the other lines.

    Probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have owned perhaps a dozen of the original Sperry Top Sider shoes over the years, but although they basically look the same, the Gold Cup are a huge improvement. Softer leather and wonderfully cushioned, well worth the difference in cost. Can walk all day in these - something I simply can not do in the original style. My first pair of Gold Cup Top Siders are over six months old, have had a lot of use, and still are as comfortable as when I got them. I had to order 1/2 size larger than most of my other shoes.

    These are great shoes. Lining is so comfortable and are well made. Good look and ideal for bare feet. Fit is slightly snug, but am sure after a couple warm days and warm feet, the soft leather lined shoe will form perfectly to my feet. I have owned classic Sperry boat shoes and always liked fit and feel of Sperry. Although these are the ultimate in summer shoes. Very happy

    Topsiders are classics--you either love them or you don't. What's greatest about them is that they don't really mind getting wet, the soles are grippy and non-marking, and they go on and off effortlessly.

    Those features are designed for boats, but I actually also use these for light biology field work when I'm tromping through shallow streams and wet meadows. Actually, this is the shoe I usually wear all the time. It's so easy to slip them off to go in and out of the house.

    The downside to Topsiders is the minimal padding. If you spend all day walking pavement, you'll know about it. You'll likely want an insole of some kind, so size up--these shoes are sized for no socks.

    This particular shoe is an upgraded model. The two-tone colors are nice, though so subtle as to be almost unnoticeable in this case. The liner is nicer than the original. Other than that, they are identical to the regular model.

    Sperry Topsider is my go-to for casual wear. Hands down the best and most comfortable moccasin at this price point. The Tan Gold Cup model is very nice and has a great aniline looking finish with very slight highs and lows noticeable in the leather. The inside is lined with lamb I believe, which is very soft and comfortable. The shoes may be worn in warm climates or colder climates. I find them comfortable either way and my feet are neither too warm or too cold. These shoes are also my go-to to pair with shorts and no socks. Comfortable with socks too if thats your thing.
