So, like a lot of you, I have been battling the indelible toilet bowl stain. I have tried so many products: Softscrub, Kaboom BowlBlaster, Comet, Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner (the gel kind)... I even just dumped a whole bunch of bleach in there and let it soak. Those stubborn stains just refused to come out. I kind of became resigned to the fact that it would be forever grubby looking unless I just drained the entire toilet and scrubbed at it with steel wool or something.

I was continually embarrassed when visitors came and asked to use the bathroom. I was so afraid that they thought that I didn't clean the toilet.

I came across this product when I was looking for some Lysol spray that didn't smell like an old lady's shoes and noticed the fantastic reviews.... They were completely right!

I received the cleaner in the middle of the day and just dumped the box in the bathroom to clean later that night after the kids went to bed. Of course, I forgot until I went to the bathroom during a television commercial break and haphazardly sprayed it around the rim, being sure to coat the entire bowl. I ran to the other bath and did the same. I was a little nervous because it came out a VERY dark blue and I had read reviews of other products that stained the toilet bowls.

And of course, I forgot about it until bed time. Grabbed the toilet brush, did a very quick scrub, flushed, and was then AMAZED. The bowl was pristine. It had not looked this good since the day we bought it. And, like the other review noted, it smelled like minty lifesavers. No tough scrubbing! The dark blue gel does kind of act like those tablets that dye your teeth plaque pink - pointing out missed spots. I just brushed over them (removing my toilet bowl plaque) and the bowl was sparkling.Read more ›

The smell is really nice (almost like wintogreen lifesavers). It's thick but not too thick, so it clings to the basin and spreads out; it really cleans as long as you let it stay on the surface for a few minutes before scrubbing. I got this because of the free shipping (through Prime) and the awesome base price and promo code. This stuff costs about $4.75/bottle in NYC, so this is a great deal. Really, all name brand toilet bowl cleaners seem pretty much the same. As long as they have the pointed, angled spout and the thick clingy liquid, I'm happy. For toilet bowl cleaner, I shop based on price, and this one nailed it.

*UPDATE: One of the bottles had a damaged lid, so some of the product leaked into the blister packaging during shipping. A little messy, but not a huge deal. I contacted Amazon via live chat and they refunded 50% of the total price (which was more than fair....WAY TO GO, Amazon).

I usually buy these at BJs. I decided to take advatage of the price that I saw here. I live in 1 bed / 1 bath. So each bottle comes for a month and a half. I use this once in 3 days. Sometimes I just squirt a bit on the bowl. I let it stay for sometime and then flush it away. No scrubbing. Keeps my toilet clean and smells clean too. Gets rid of the toilet rings easily.

The spout of one of the bottle broke. I am not even sure how it broke since I am the only person handling the bottle. So I handled the next 2 bottles very gently.

Toilets love this stuff. It you're patient, you don't even need to scrub. I simply squirt some into the bowl, let it sit overnight, and flush away in the morning. This method works well for me - though I don't know/don't want to know what some of you do to your toilets..

I have used nearly all types of cleaners to clean all the toilets in our home. While many products do the job, the Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner has always done the greatest job.
I would also like to mention that the cap to this bottle can be a pain if you have not had successful experience in opening it correctly many times. Tightly pinch the rigid part of the cap with your thumb and index finger and turn cap in counterclockwise rotation. Do not twist cap off completely or you may damage the bottle. Since not many people can follow directions carefully, maybe Lysol can make a small flip cap while keeping the gooseneck bottle design.
