As many other reviews have indicated, when you order the TOMTOM Micro USB Lifetime Free Live Traffic Receiver Car Charger Vehicle Power Cable Cord for TOM TOM VIA 1535 1525 1505 1500 1435 1425 1405 1400 T GPS Navigator (PN 4UUC5B, 4UUC.001.05B, 4UUC.003.05) you will NOT receive the cable that is shown on the site. What you will receive is:
1) One cable with the traffic device in the cable that does NOT fit your 1500's TOMTOM VIA
2) A second, short cable that serves as connector between your long cable and your device. It is cumbersome and keeps getting disconnected. Furthermore, it is NOT what you ordered. Apparently, Charger City, through AMAZON and eBAY, tries to get rid of some cables. Please do as I did: request a refund by clicking on the option "is different from shown on website", receive your refund, send the cables back to Charger City. Keep doing this until you get the cable as shown on the website. I did this and it works. Apparently. Charger City DOES have the correct cable, they just want to try you, hoping you will accept the other cables they want to get rid off. TOMTOM, AMAZON, eBAY please be aware what the seller is trying to do. TAKE ACTION!

The charge cable I received works fine, but it's not what's pictured. What I got was a cable that fits the old style mini USB and an adapter that makes it fit with a micro USB. It works okay, but where it fits into the GPS is really bulky since it's not shaped the way the picture shows. It's kind of annoying to pay for one thing and get another, but at least my GPS works again,

In terms of function, it's five stars. It's just a receiver. I do wish the unit wouldn't suggest the same alternate route every thirty freakin seconds when I keep replying 'no' each time it's suggested before ripping the traffic cord out during city driving. Seriously TomTom, you can't fix this?

But what's really inexcusable is the reason why I've been through five of these and counting. The end of the plug comes apart and can't be put back together. Once it pops, you need a new one. And it's not that the materials break, it's that it comes unscrewed and eventually falls apart. I've had to keep the USB power cord in my car--which is for connecting it to my computer for map updates--just so I know I wont be stuck without GPS.

So I'm going to order this damn cord once again, only this time it's past the warranty period so I have to pay out of pocket for it.

Between replacing this cord multiple times, and having to pay over $50 a year for map updates, I'm seriously considering going over to Garmin even though I love the TomTom--when it's working and not annoying the living crap out of me.

The cable ends in a MINI port (not micro). It ends with the proper "L" shape required for the Tomtom. Then they give you a short adaptor to plug into the mini USB, with a MICRO USB on the end. It fits the tomtom "sort of" but it doesn't have the proper L shape. I don't think this configuration will give the long term performance desired and may cause stresses on the tomtom plug that damage it.

My charger is extremely poor quality. The tolerances on the plug are so poor that the metal contact will press into the plug and will not return. So, I have to constantly manipulate it to keep the unit powered. This is particularly problematic given the stiffness of the cable and the poor connection to the GPS. All of this combined makes it an unsafe device to use while driving.

Just what I needed and at a reasonable price. One of your sample pictures, however, shows a square grip around the micro USB plug and one showed the curved grip that this particular model of TomTom requires. Prior to me purchasing, I questioned whether this was the correct item until I read a review comment that says it will fit my model. Please remove the sample photos showing the square grip.

Purchased this device after the one included with my TomTom device became completely defective after 6 months of very light use. This one I also use it very lightly, and many times it doesn't bring up the traffic. It also frayed at the point where the cord enters the piece that goes into the cigarette lighter. Either this receiver or the device (or both!) is a piece of junk that only works sometimes but probably the only option available.
