This was actually a little challenging for me to install unlike mentioned in some other reviews (probably I'm just less clever). I have a saros helmet. The trick was to bend the top part back on itself to allow the tab to protrude. Then insert the tab into the slot in the mount in the helmet and rotate 90 degrees to its proper position.

There's no difference between this and the original.

I ride 6-10,000mi/yr. I've had 7 Giro helmets over as many years--I buy new ones to match new team kits or need a new aero road helmet or occasionally crash. This is the first time I've ever had a Roc Loc break. The replacement process was a pain. It only took seconds to get the broken one off but 15-20 min of drinking a beer and trying again. I was worried I was going to break the replacement part or the attachment point on the rear of the helmet. See this page for instructions on how to install one. http://www.webersports.com/how-to-install-a-replacement-giro-roc-loc-5 Then open a beer and prepare to wrestle your helmet into submission.

This product is poorly designed, and breaks easily and quickly. There are two tiny plastic protrusions that holding the critical adjustment piece onto the system. If it's tapped just the wrong way, they snap and your helmet no longer fits. Look for helmets that use alternate retention systems. Avoid the Roc Loc 5, so you're not buying a good helmet with a poorly designed retention system.

Worked perfectly when replaced the old broken piece that came with the helmet. A bit of time putting it on but, only cuz of having to completely undo and rerun the strap back thru the new Loc. My helmet is like new again and can last another saxon or two. So nice to have this replacement piece rather then being a whole new helmet for upwards of $200.

I bought a Giro Atmos helmet that uses the roc loc 5 and lets just say that both "rock" and "lock" neither describe the product well. The rear dial adjustment knob on mine broke after about 8 months of use (I ride once a week road rides). It's a very frail system. But I don't want to buy a new helmet to fix one little broken dial, so here I am buying a replacement Roc Loc 5. If you have the choice I recommend an older model Roc Loc 4 was a good design or buy a different brand helmet

This is the exact replacement for my helmet. It was somewhat difficult to install. After some trimming the suspension was successfully installed and is working well.

The replacement Roc Loc was delivered on time and was exactly what I ordered. It is a little tricky to install, but once installed it has worked as designed.
