You get a good selection of sizes and colors with this set of flats. You get six of the 16x16 squares (2 green, 2 brown, and 2 blue), eight of the 8x16 rectangles (2 green, 2 light yellow, 2 white, and 2 blue), and eight of the 6x12 rectangles ( 2 brown, 2 dark green, 2 gray, and 2 light brown). 22 pieces altogether.

You can never have enough of these pieces when building something with LEGOs.

Boxes of plain bricks are my favorite, but it's difficult to do some kinds of structures working with only standard height blocks.

This is a must if you're putting together a free play environment. With enough bricks to work as columns you can build a 23 story skyscraper using these plates. Do you need to know any more?

The underside of these plates are designed so you can plug bricks in at half peg offsets, so you have a little extra flexibility over plugging into the bottom of other bricks, too.

My little brickbuilder at home would give this as many stars as she has fingers.

You know all legos are exceptional quality, I write this review because they are rarely an exceptional value and these were. However, only the green, blue, brown and white plates are standard lego colors. There is also a light and dark tan as well as a dark grey that are unusual but not rare colors and then there is a dark green that I have never seen before.

Nice assortment of both colors and sizes with this kit. Very sturdy and strong in my opinion. Thicker than the 10x10 and 15x15 plates so should last a very long time. Another quality product from LEGO. Set includes 3 different sizes of plates 8 different colors. Highly recommended and would purchase against. Grab this while the price is still around $30

Perfect set of base plates. Can't wait to try them out with the grand children. Largest, larger than expected: 5x5", next, 2.5x5", and finally 1.75x3.75" (about 2x4). Colors varied and very artistic. Dark red and dark green, beige, blue, yellow, green, white. Lovely.
