What I didn't realize until I actually received the product, is that it is designed to work PRIMARILY (or only) on a hot griddle. If I had gone to the blown-up version of the Amazon picture, I would have realized that, quite honestly.

The product does work as advertised, effectively cleaning burnt debris from a hot griddle. However, because it is not my habit to expose my hands to that kind of danger, I normally allow my grill to cool before cleaning it. In order to test this product, I had to create a situation that is abnormal for my use. I did do that. I can imagine that in some restaurants the griddle might be cleaned while at the required temperatures - "Works effectively on medium hot griddles (300 - 350ºF)" - but even there I suspect a chef or short-order cook would clean the grill after it has cooled to a safe temperature.

However, if you find that this product meets the needs of your situation, it does work well and eliminates a lot of elbow grease.

This cleaner does work decently well at cleaning my cast iron griddle. However, it doesn't clean much better than home solutions -- either just hot water or hot water and a little vinegar work about as well on a hot griddle, so while this product does work it's just too expensive to be worth the purchase.
