my 2 stars is NOT ABOUT THE SOUND because until now i didn't mount;
i receive 2 of this 4 broken ( see photo )
this problem is because the original box is very small paper and during the transport is possible the box fall down or something like this :(

Overall, this is a nice little subwoofer. However, I have a few qualms with it:
(1) The box says it's rated at 300 watts rms (600 max) but the thing started making a burning smell after I gave it somewhere between 200 watts and 300. Not a huge problem, and I honestly don't care if I can only give it 100 watts, but at least don't lie to me.
(2) The rest of this series of speaker has push terminals (I believe) but this one does not. It's confusing because in pyle's picture on their website of the speaker it does.
I put it in a custom tube enclosure I made myself. Works pretty nice. Not super loud but very good for a 12 dollar speaker. In comparison, I have a Kicker CVT 6.5 inch sub (about 100 dollars I believe) that is only marginally louder. So if you're careful about not giving it too much power it will serve you well.

I bought two of these, refurbished advertised as good. Sadly, one of them had a scratchy noise pushing the membrane. Measuring the voice coil's resistance it looked good, but it turns out the voice coil has been overheated and deformed, scratching voice coil gap (see photo). Sadly 2), I took the speaker to Ecuador so I'm having a hard time returning it, and 3) the return window expired 3 days ago and there's no way to contact seller (Amazon.com)... The other speaker seems to be OK.
