Holds tune, sounds great, and is relatively easy to play.
(edit) I like it enough that I bought a second one, it should be here tomorrow.
Out of the box, the action is a little high, but not horrible - I'd say approaching 0.12 inches at the 12th fret (should be about 0.9). - you can get this fixed at your local luthier for about $50 - probably worth the spend, because the construction is otherwise pretty solid. The intonation is good, compensated saddle for the win. With a proper setup and a little care, this guitar should last a long time.
At first glance, the finish is great, but a keen eye can pick out imperfections - the rosette is a decal, there are buff marks (easily fixed), the pick guard doesn't quite match the rosette, and the bridge could use some oil. From 5 feet away, though, it's a very nice looking guitar. (edit) The second one is much nicer, aesthetically speaking.
Overall, for a beater or a beginner guitar, it's a great value.

Over 2 weeks in, I'm still really enjoying this guitar. It gets at least an hour a day of use. I'm still on the factory strings, but I suspect I will be switching to some mediums in the next week or so. It's holding tune quite well, I don't think I touched the tuning machines at all this week.
I want to amend my previous about proper setup - you wouldn't buy a car and not adjust the seats, the mirrors, or the tilt steering column - guitars are much the same. You can't buy a guitar and expect it to be perfect out of the box, especially when we're talking an economy model purchased online, such as this. And, you can tweak it yourself, if you know what you're doing - paying a luthier is just a suggestion.Read more ›
