I have an eleven pound maltese/shitsu mix who I recently spent over $500 in dental bills (had to remove ten teeth). I am now an avid believer in brushing your dog's teeth at least three times a week. I took a chance based on the reviews and bought this product. The quality of the brush itself is on par with a human grade toothbrush with high quality bristles, and the toothpaste cuts through the tartar build up like butter when used with the toothbrush following an up and down brush stroke. I have since bought an extra two packs to change out the brush every three to four months of use. I highly recommend this product because it works and my dog loves the taste of the toothpaste. My dog hardly fights when I clean her teeth and she enjoys the flavor which I believe is supposted to be peanut butter.

I have 4 dogs of varying sizes, from a chihuahua to a lab, and the Nylabone Toothbrush works great for all 4 dogs. I wasn't sure if it would be small enough for my littliest dog but it is. I really like the fact that it is curved. IT makes it so much easier to get to the back teeth. My dogs all really enjoy the flavor of the toothpaste too. I use to have to fight them to brush teeth but with the Nylabone toothbrush and paste, no more fighting.

Best toothbrush I've ever used. I've brushed my dogs teeth every day for 4 months now and I've looked for a better brush and have never found one until now. It really is alot faster and easier with this one than other ones.

I'll caveat this review by saying I've had dogs my entire life, they are now and have always been family. We have two Old English Bulldogs and they are in every sense my heart - and their emotional and physical well being is paramount.

To some folks it may seem crazy to brush your dogs teeth - but it really is one of the best things you can do for your pooch. According to WebMd by year two most all dogs are showing signs of periodontal disease (gum disease) and just like with us humans, left untreated this can lead to myriad of health problems - including blood poisoning.

By brushing your furry friends pearly whites, this is easily prevented and provides additional insight as well.

* Removes Plaque.

* Massages Gums - increased blood circulation.

* Allows you to seek out and find cracked teeth - can lead to blood poisoning. remember by nature dogs don't show pain. According to renowned Veterinarian and animal behaviorist Anthony Woodward - instinctively dogs will do anything to disguise their physical pain They can have a mouthful of abscess teeth and still eat and chew their toys with fervor un-noticed by us.

* Check for developmental and or orthodontic problems i.e.: loose teeth, gum lesions, chipped or fractured teeth.

If by chance you're just starting to brush your dogs teeth, these tips may make it an easier process for both of you.

* Go slow and easy - let your pooch sniff and lick the tooth brush.

* Talk in a low and calm voice

This is a great toothbrush, the angle of it really allows me to get all the way into their mouths. I find my dogs let me use it on them longer than other brushes I've used before, whether that is because of the brush or because they like the toothpaste more is only known to them and they aren't talking. I'm very happy with it and would highly recommend it to others. I don't use the finger brush.

like the toothpaste (or rather one of my dogs does) and the toothbrush is a good fit for her. however, be aware that this brush is too big for smaller dogs. the dog, of mine, it works for is a 12 lb Schnoodle, the dog that it is too big for is a 5 lb Yorkie. so, don't buy it for really small dogs or puppies.
