Third Try Lucky

This was my third try to purchase anti-embolism stockings. The first were off the shelf at a CVS pharmacy; they were too tight and too long. The second were from Amazon; they were even longer, but a lot less tight. The third try, these Truform Anti Embolism Short Length Knee High Compression Stockings, were much easier to fit to my legs. Truform has a number of choices for length and for the grade level of Compression. "Anti-Embolism" is the name of one of several grades of compression. Truform has some charts that are helpful in figuring out what you need. All of this said, I am slightly too short even for these "short" stockings; what helps is that the tops of the stockings do not have the same level of compression as the rest of the stocking leg. I can therefore fold the softly knitted top over the compression and fit the stocking to just below my knee. Unfortunately, Amazon does not sell the right amount of patience to use these every day. On the other hand, for me the few days at any one time that I use these has been enough to stave off the need for constant use. Your mileage on this observation may vary, though.

The stockings are fine...

...it's just turned into one of those orders where the supplier never really got it right. First time they only sent one pair instead of "(Pack of 2)". I let customer service know, and they said sorry, sorry, sorry and that they'd send a replacement order—no need to return the first pair. Okay—seems like just sending the pair we came up short would be enough, but I don't make the rules for Amazon. A day later I got an email "reminding" me to return the original pair or I'd be charged for the replacement order, which was on its way. But wait—yesterday you told me NOT to return the original pair! So I contacted customer service again, and they said sorry, sorry, sorry and that they'd make sure I wouldn't be charged again and reiterated that I need not send the original stockings back. Okay, everything's on track, right? The replacement order came the next day: One pair below knee closed-toe stockings in beige AND... one pair thigh-high, open-toe stockings in beige. But you know what? It's fine. We now have the two pair of closed-toe, below-the-knee stockings I originally ordered, and I don't want to waste any more of customer service's time. That said, someone really ought to check on whoever is pulling and packing this stuff for Rx Clearance and make sure they don't inadvertently pack up the dog or the baby next time. And as always, I appreciate Amazon's efforts to make sure things are right even if this time it seems as though that was mostly by accident.

Made for Big guys - these feel great

Great Product

The Truform Anti-Embolism stockings work exactly as described.
I would definitely only use under the direction of a doctor.
Also, only use as directed, if not, they could roll up and create a tight area.
This is not a design or product flaw.

If you order the two pack from Amazon, beware. I ordered 2 two packs. The shipment came in two different packages. Each package only contained one pair of stockings. Called customer service and they place a second order. Again, shipment came in two different packages. One package did have two pairs, the other package still only had one pair. So, in all I received five pairs when I ordered four. I returned one pair and am still waiting for charges to be cleared up. This has been going on for about four weeks.

Good for long term wear

I bought these stockings to help improve circulation in my legs which had diminished during my pregnancy. In comparison, I had purchased a pair of Jobst stockings that worked. However, the key difference between the two was that the TruForm pair was a bit more loose around the toes and heel. This was helpful because the Jobst pair would pinch my toes after prolonged use while the Truform could be worn for however long I needed.

One thing to note. I wished that the description provided the compression rating so that a better comparison could be made between these and other brands. Based on the price, I assumed these would be the mild and I was right. They are 10 - 20 mmHG and satified my needs.

good price but they don't work for me

would not have a strong recommendation for this product, except the price is such that it's worth checking out to see if they work for your. i need to wear stockings every day and so am looking for a product that is a good value as well. All of these types of stockings wear out and need to be laundered with care. another requirement for any stockings is that they can be donned without a lot of difficulty. These stockings are OK in that manner. The problem for me is that after a short time of wear the knit around the ankles looks like i've put on a tight rubber band around my ankle. That sort of binding wear is not comfortable at all. They might work OK for you, but i've moved on to another product.
