We bought the 75 ft hose and loved it, but it wasn't quite long enough to fit all the way through our garden (because we weaved the hose in and around each plant instead of putting it straight along the middle of the garden), so we bought the 25 ft to finish that garden and bought this 50 foot for our vegetable garden. Our vegetable garden is 20 ft long and 4 ft wide, so we looped the hose which provides better coverage anyway. We did not need rubber washers to stop any leaks. As a matter of fact, when we put a rubber washer in, it leaked like crazy, but quit leaking entirely when we took it out. In order to fit two hoses together, you should remove the blue disk from the hose that is furthest away from the faucet.

Don't be put off by the 3/8 inch size, a smaller size works great for a soaker hose. The package mentions about the possibility of burying the hose, so for our 100 feet of hose that we have running through our garden beds, we plan to add more mulch to hide the black color of the hose.

I live in Texas and in the middle of a drought with water restrictions on your lawn. One approved way to keep your foundation or plant life alive is with a soaker hose. This soaker hose seem great in all but one respect. You can water with it for HOURS and I swear the amount of water it put out would not fill a five gallon bucket!

I purchase two 50' and one 25' from and had issues with leaking at the hose connection end on all three. I even tried adding a hose washer and they still leaked. I finally purchased the Swan brand and with that one I had to add a washer to stop the leaking, but it did stop.

very good price, service as usual from Amazon. This is a great product. I used it in my raised beds. They worked very very well. Put a timer on your faucet and now more standing over your garden hoping you are watering sufficiently. REally takes a lot of work out of gardening.

Despite the small diameter of this hose, you can get more water out of it if you want. Just use a drill to widen the hole in the blue restrictor, or do as I did and take the restricting disk out completely. It puts out the right amount of water, and it's not so delicate that I need to worry about stepping on it or dragging it across rocks. Just right.

My wife and I bought many soaker hose brands and types at the same time, and so far we like the Element rubber soaker hoses the best. Only complaint is one out of many didn't have a cap at the end, but we bought one cheap at a home improvement store. No leaks yet using low water pressure, and easy to place down.

What can I say . . . we are in a drought and this delivers water to where I want it without spreading it on driveways .
I just snake it along the planting beds Plus T - tap off at several locations .
I turn one valve and water a wide array with minimal loss to evaporation from overspray type watering .

I'll start out by saying this will be my go-to purchase for soaker hoses from now on. But, it still has many of the same flaws as other brands of soaker hoses I've tried (and I've tried many!).

First the bad:
- poor quality construction around where the hose connects leads to leaks and sprays
- one out of the four I purchased blew a hole in the first few uses (I used gorilla tape to cover it, and the hose works fine now)
- slow shipping

The quality of construction issues are two things that I've seen with pretty much every soaker hose, and this one is no different. However, the good:
- lead free!! you have no idea how upset I was when I realized I was watering my vegetables with lead hoses. This and this alone is reason to buy this one.
- it unrolls nicely. every other brand of soaker hose is impossible to unroll and straighten around plants without extreme difficulty, this one is.
- you can easily remove the blue flow restrictor if you want to allow more water through and actually soak your plants, rather than dribble on them
- lead free!!
