I bought this cover at Best Buy for my husband's ipad and I paid a hefty price for it there - much more than Amazon's price. I do have one of those "sturdy" covers for my ipad with all the adjustable positions. But, I have to agree with the other reviewer who also likes this cover. It does have some of the drawbacks that the more negative reviews complained about. It's not leather. It's not heavy duty. The magnetic closure doesn't hold the cover shut. But, I mostly use my ipad at home and, if I take it out, it travels in my car and if I carry it out of the car, I'm usually not walking very far with it so I'm not worried about dropping it. And, if I were worried about that, I use a book bag with a shoulder strap to carry the ipad in. So, all said, I like it because it is slim, light and makes the ipad very easy to handle and use. I don't see any major problems with speakers, hook-ups, etc. It works just fine.

This case is noticeably thinner and very compact compared to others I have used. The fit and finish is poor and in at least one place, the material was not stitched very well and is starting to unravel.
The magnetic on/off is useful except you must press down on the area wher the magnet is located and hold it in order for the Ipad to turn off. Again, this goes back to the fit and finish of the case.
The top of the enclosure has a flap which fits over the Ipad and tucks inside, however it doesn't have any velcro to retain the flap, so it periodically comes out. This is very annoying. The encosure does not have any way of displaying the the Ipad or inclining it.
The accessibility of the camera and various interfaces is very good
The charging cord and earbuds are easy to plug in and the interfaces do not have any material obstructing access. Many of competitior's products offer a method of changing the display angle, this one does not. Over all, very basic enclosure with relatively poor construction.

It's a flimsy, cheap case and if the cutouts aligned better this would have been usable but they did not. It just does not fit right. I ended up getting the CrazyOnDigital 2-Tone Designer Leather Case Cover which also came with a free screen protector. It was OK. The best case that I have tried so far is the Targus Versavu for the New iPad (3rd Gen) It cost a little more but is VASTLY superior!

I received this product free of charge to try through the vine program.
Would I spend my own money on this? No

Well, I can't give this item a good review.
1) The stitching isn't straight on the edges, making it look like a prototype.
2) The magnetic closure doesn't work at all. You have to really squeeze it to get the magnet to engage.
3) the dimensions don't seem quite right, holes for plugs are off center.

I've always thought of Targus as a great brand that gets things right, but, not this time...

I don't recommend it...

Nice case for the price but did not fit the iPad correctly. I was very excited to order this case after researching for days but unfortunately I'm having to return it. I was looking for a cheap case since this is for my work iPad. This was supposed to fit the model I have and the iPad would slide in but the cover would not close correctly. The case also covered the front facing camera when it wasn't supposed to.

I can't believe just how poor this case is designed. I had to remove the magnet because, when closed, the iPad constantly comes on because the magnet is not properly designed to consistently come close to the iPad to turn it off. The material is junk, and the standing positions for the tilted iPad do not positively secure it from slipping.
Targus just didn't care when they made this case.

I'm tempted to compare this simple iPad cover with my Otter iPhone cover, but I won't because the Otter, while great for my iPhone, would not be for my iPad. For those people who use their iPad for just about everything, they have to lug around whatever cover they choose. I know a guy who had what looks like a wooden cover for his, and I'm thinking that such a cover would add bulk and weight. However, he seems to love it...splinters and all.

The thing I like the most about this cover is its simplicity. I have not (nor intend to) test-drop it with my iPad. However, I doubt that the cover holds it firmly enough that bouncing out of the holder is an unlikely option. I try not to drop mine, but I suppose if I held it just wrong, my iPad could slip out and harm itself; so it's something that I must attend to and wish I didn't.

As the saying goes, so far, so good. Since it looks like a notebook, my iPad is a tad safer from thieves (I'm on my second iPhone 4S due to thievery.) It's light, and the light canvas cover keeps my iPad from mundane wear and tear. I must say, though, that I'm not one of those who cannot get along without my iPad. In fact, my iPhone has most of the same functionality, it's smaller and lighter and makes phone calls. As I start using my iPad more, I'm going to consider alternative holders.

This is a basic case; it protects the iPad, but doesn't bend or prop up the iPad in any way. It is simply a (thick) cloth sleeve with a cloth covered cardboard cover to protect the screen. It would be fine if the iPad fit properly. The one I received does not accommodate the 3rd gen, which ia a tad thicker than the iPad 2, consequently, the case doesn't close well, despite the box stating that it is for the 3rd gen. They may have remedied this since I received mine, but mine doesn't fit.
