Disaster. I'm refinishing several pieces and used the original version (not antique) of this glaze with beautiful results. The original product is no longer available, so I tried this. At first it started lifting the paint and after awhile it produced a finish straight out of the 1970's - streaked and dated. Never again!

I'm a HUGE fan of this product - it lets me antique or whitewash in any color so I'm not limited to just the dark brown colors most companies offer. It's also foolproof - if the antique is too dark, I brush it with just the tintable antique effect which re-wets and thins it. LOVEIT

You can mix this medium with any color of crafting acrylic paint (doesn't have to be Martha Stewart brand - Folkart, Americana, etc. work fine) to create any color of antique stain! (This medium has no color of its own) As with many of Martha's craft products, the price is sometimes a bit higher, but the quality is usually higher, too. (I was recently amazed by the quality of her silkscreens - which can also be used with this product for some interesting sheer effects.)
