Bonne Maman is a great line of preserves, and finding out they made Fig Preserves absolutely made my day. I had found their more traditional flavors at my local grocery, but happened upon their fig preserves at a boutique cafe in my area. However, they were charging $6.99 per jar. I love fig preserves, but $7 is a bit steep. I grew up with a French father, and spent lots of time visiting family in Southern France. I remember having my Aunt's homemade fig preserves on fresh baguettes and croissants for breakfast in the morning throughout my life. I developed a taste for preserves made from mirabelle plums, figs, and still love strawberry as well. And, while Smuckers Strawberry Preserves are fine for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it's just not the taste or quality I love for breakfast. Bonne Maman also makes a great strawberry, and Four Fruits preserves as well, but fig is by far the best in my opinion. All their fruit preserves have more pieces of real fruit in them than your standard American brands. I love having an actual strawberry or fig turn up on my english muffin rather than just more flavored corn syrup. When I found the fig preserves, in particular, here on Amazon at a more reasonable price (around $4.25 a jar) I was sold immediately. I will definitely use 6 jars of this within several months time, and certainly before they go bad. The irony of this find was that the day after I finally had ordered and received my first 6 jars I stopped by a grocery I don't frequent. There in the jam and jelly aisle were Bonne Maman Fig Preserves on sale for $1.99/jar. I had no idea. Needless to say, I will be checking there first, but will absolutely be buying these again if a $7 jar is my only other option. These are great preserves, and the only better ones I've found come from my Aunt's kitchen. They're a little harder to come by these days.

I would definitely fall into the category of a jam snob. I make jams, preserves, conserves, jellies, marmalade, and syrups fairly regularly using french methods. This has left me accustomed to high quality preserves that taste natural, vibrant, and tangy. And, have plenty of jewel-like fruit pieces suspended in them. When making strawberry preserves using french methods, it takes a few days of soaking in sugar and briefly simmering to draw the water from the berries and replace it with sugar, before the final boil. This process gives the berries a beautiful translucent quality. That being said, Bonne Maman is a lovely brand of french confitures. The strawberry is loaded pieces of french strawberries and is good enough to eat strait from the jar. Try the strawberry inside crepes with ham and swiss cheese. The four fruit preserves are also delectable and very homemade tasting. I love to try a new french preserve recipe in my kitchen then try the Bonne Maman version to see how they compare. Bonne Maman is always worth a few extra dollars, other cheaper mass-produced varieties do not compare in the slightest. Try any of the Bonne Maman Preserves on good french bread or as filling in tarts and cookies and you will not be disappointed. Since they are high quality preserves they handle baking well and do not run out of cookies or small tarts like cheap preserves do. If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, try the Chestnut Preserves if you can get your hands on them. I can't find many of the varieties I want in stores around me and work too much to go try to find them (always cooking and baking on days off), so I purchase them online and have not had any issues as of yet. Try this line of preserves with confidence if you appreciate well-made fruit preserves that are deeply flavored and not too sweet.

I adore French berries. and these are so delicious. No high fructose corn syrup, just real sugar for sweetener. Yes, it costs more than Smucker's, but it has that yummy tart raspberry flavor. For less than $10 you can get a jar of the best raspberry preserves in the world.

Tonight, nothing sounded good for dinner. I had 2 biscuits with these raspberry preserves and I am still smiling. A jar makes fifteen or twenty little treats. My favorite is a slice of French bread with cream cheese and raspberry preserves. Go ahead and spoil yourself and your family. And lest I forget,Jeff Bezos, thank you!

bought this 6 pack of Bonne Maman blackberry preserves for a few reasons the price was very reasonable especially in this area IF YOU CAN FIND IT,my family loves blackberry preserves and it is much easier on me than making it,considering the picking of blackberries and the cooking of it.this brand is a very good tasty brand. it is slightly expensive if just looking at a preserve, but find it worth the cost.will purchase again and would recommend to anyone.

It's neither a big hit nor a big flop; just an ok, kinda like when in school you got a B- or a C+. Given the cost it should be better. It's not tart enough for my tastes, but my hubby thought it was fine (but he has a sweet tooth, my sweet patootie does, so . . . ). If you rather like a nice tart taste you might want to try something else. Hope this might help you decide.

Bonne Maman makes wonderful preserves! We haven't tried a flavored yet that we haven't liked. These blueberry preserves are so good and taste wonderful on freshly toasted English muffins. Love all the tiny little blueberries, the jar is packed full of them!
