Great fit, very comfortable to wear while golfing.
As the day warmed up, they were very comfortable, and I could feel a cooling effect.

I used to be an elite level athlete before developing exercise-induced hyperthermia. The long and short is that when my adrenaline surges, my sweat glands stop working very well. As a result, it’s not uncommon for my core temp to rise to 105F during very strenuous exercise. I’ve been the subject of many studies trying to determine treatments, etc, all to no avail. I’ve used a cooling jacket with ice water and gotten exemptions from triathlon events to use it because I’m not competing for prizes, just to stay in shape. Otherwise it wouldn’t be allowed.

Your arms are a major heat sink for your core. That is, the heart pumps lots of blood to your arms, where there are many more sweat glands/square inch than your legs, which is why your arms sweat earlier and more than your legs, for example.

I have a thermal probe that constantly takes my ear temperature and displays it on my specially made cyclometer, so that when it gets to 104F, I stop exercising. So I know exactly where it is during exercise.

When I read about these arm coolers, I figured what the heck, another scam. But I’m always looking for a way to exercise longer so I took the plunge. Well, I was shocked. On a loop I do twice a week, my core temp always comes back at 103-103.5. With these arm coolers, I have not yet topped 101.4. That’s a full 2F cooler. That’s a HUGE difference. I have yet to reach 104F on any ride, no matter the distance (I still don’t ride if it’s 85F or hotter out). It appears these do in fact allow for increased evaporative cooling in the arms. In fact, when I get home, my arms are entirely dry, versus slightly damp (in normal people, they’d be dripping sweat).

To test it further, I put them on my calves. This only accounted for about a 0.

I could feel a chill as soon as I put them on, and that was dry. On a cool June morning, they were almost too cool (It was about 64 degrees that morning, in Duarte, CA). As the day warmed up, they were very comfortable, and I could feel a cooling effect. At one point, I wet them from my water bottle. That added to the cooling effect. I cannot fully assess the SPF, because I wear sunscreen on my arms when I ride. My arms did not feel any effect from the sun, and there was no sunburn. For reference, I wear a 34" sleeve dress shirt, and the Mediums are the right length. I am 5'10" tall, 160 pounds. I buy size L Sugoi bike shorts, and M arm warmers.

After two weeks, I have one negative comment about the arm coolers. They stain. There are brownish lines in the folds of the elbow, possibly from using sunscreen (Neutrogena). Washed them with detergent and Spray n Wash, but the lines are still there.

I've seen some riders with these sleeves and they've all said they are great, so I thought I'd give them a try. I mainly wanted something to protect my skin from the sun and these fit the bill! I was worried they might be too hot, but quite the opposite. I live in Houston and riding in August is a bear. I've used them on every ride since I bought them and once you start sweating they do having a cooling affect and if you pour some water on them it feels great.
So whether you are looking for something to screen the sun or cool your arms off give these a try!

I use these for golf. They are not as "stretchy" as the sleeves normally sold in the pro shops, but I feel a better protection from the sun. I hate the annoying sewn-in label. I wish they would print the required info instead. Even after carefully cutting the label off, the remnants still dig into my skin.

I received these arm coolers and they are fit great. I don't feel a lot cooler but it does feel much better than the hardcore sunblock that I had to put on in the past. I hate the feeling of sweaty and sticky arms when riding and these were great.

The only knock on these would be that they are a bit fragile. I guess being super thin will help keep you cool but they appear really delicate and will need to take extra care when washing.

This is an excellent product. I bought it so I would not have to use sunscreen on my arms in the summer. It is also a good arm warmer for cool fall mornings. In the summer it will cool your arms like air conditioning if you wet well with water from your bottle every 30 minutes or so if you have access to more water to drink.

These cooling sleeves have been teriffic on long rides on sunny days. They keep the sun from burning my arms and do not heat me up. I've worn them on 3 century rides that were warm days and they worked great!

Most other arm warmers / coolers tend to fit snug right down the arm, but this one is pretty loose except for the elastic at either end. I find that this makes thme more comfortable to wear for a long ride. Of course they keep the sun off you arms and will also keep you cool provided they are kept damp.
