I have been using the original Vega product for months an loved it. I was excited to see that it had been reformulated. I have tried the Chocolate and the Vanilla Chai and think they both taste fine...not an improvement but not worse either.
I have a hard time understanding their marketing strategy though. Frankly it seems quite dishonest. For the same price you are now getting fewer ounces of Vega per container and they have tried to sell it as an improvement because you only need 1 scoop now and supposedly there are more servings per container. So far so good, until you compare the nutritional information to the old formula and find that the nutrients have been cut in half per serving.
That smells like a marketing scheme to illicit more money from the consumer for less product. I expected better of a product with Brendan Braziers face on it.
Thankfully their are alternatives. I have also been very pleased with the "Raw Meal" from Garden of life. The Raw meal does not taste as good as Vega but when you consume one of these supplements regularity, the lower price point with better nutritional stats starts to make a difference. It is also organic.

We're a little late to the Amazon train, but 2 years late is better late than never! At the time of change from Whole Food Optimizer to Vega One, 2 years ago, we had held a focus group and learnt that taste & texture were extremely important factors for our consumers. Secondly, we heard feedback that our community wanted just one scoop rather than two. We spearheaded our change with this in mind, looking to create a smoother smoothie, all in one scoop, that is still nutrient dense and delicious. And you are right; the RDI for vitamins and minerals changed from 100% per serving to 50% per serving, though this wasn't without intent. While having a 100% RDI scoop was great, we really wanted to begin encouraging our community to intake their nutrients from whole foods as well. Eating whole foods is something we value and are proud to promote. And, in conjunction with this, we increased our antioxidants by 250%, our probiotics by 100%, omega-3's by 20%, added 10% more greens and upped the protein by 15% per scoop. So we gave a little in one place and gained a lot in others!
Vega One really became a product of its own from Whole Food Optimizer.
Now, after more feedback from our community, we are reformulating again and couldn't be more excited! While we have always used non-GMO ingredients, we are proud to say we are now certified non-GMO by the Non-GMO Project. With this, we have also changed to 100% food based vitamins & minerals. The newest Vega One is, in fact, a food in and of itself. So freaking exciting! The feedback we received over the past 2 years also called for a higher protein scoop & looked for more greens. We worked away at this and are stoked to roll out our newest Vega One with 33% more protein and 2x more greens in every scoop. You are a person passionate about health and good quality products, and we love this. We sincerely hope you give this newest formulation of Vega One a try, as we'd love to get your feedback now that we've grown yet again.

I have been using veg every morning for 1 year now. used to be good meal replacement shake. but not any more new vega one is less filling. after i compared nutrient then I noticed that nutrition is half in serving size no wonder it is less filling and more smooth. Water is less filling and more smooth too. To me it seems like they noticed by now a lot people use this product. How about we double the revenue with new formulation of half the nutrients double the price.
Please take steps in giving people value for their money with good nutrients. I will be looking for alternatives before my current bucket runs out. sorry about the bad review but it has to be said.

I'm glad we were able to nutritionally support you for so long and appreciate you taking the time to let us know your thoughts on our past formulation. We loved having a scoop that provided 100% your RDI vitamins & minerals, though it didn't really align with our values to support a whole foods diet. We lowered the amount per scoop to 50% in order to promote our community to get the rest of what they need from food. And, in conjunction with this, we increased our antioxidants by 250%, our probiotics by 100%, omega-3's by 20%, added 10% more greens and upped the protein by 15% per scoop. We also heard feedback that our consumers wanted a smoother tasting smoothie and to get this all in one scoop, rather than two. Our decisions to change were fueled by this feedback and our values to offer a nutrient dense, plant based product that could supplement a whole foods diet.
I wanted to touch base with you now because, based on more consumer feedback, we have reformulated again and we'd love for you to give us another go so we can hear your thoughts! We are always improving and growing based on our consumer feedback, and our community asked for more protein and greens in every scoop, so we've upped the ante with 33% increased protein and 2x more servings of greens in each scoop. You're totally right, our WFO did offer 100% your RDI of vitamins & minerals. Though we believe a supplement is made to support a whole foods diet, not replace one. So our next Vega One was formulated with 50% your RDI vitamins and minerals and we encouraged our consumers to get the rest from food. However, with this, we also increased our antioxidants by 250%, our probiotics by 100%, omega-3's by 20%, added 10% more greens and upped the protein by 15% per scoop. We also focused on making a smoother taste while packing all these nutrients into one scoop rather than two.
Now, after two years of more community feedback, we've reformulated again. While we've always used non-GMO ingredients, we are flipping proud to officially be certified non-GMO by the Non-GMO Project! We've also created our newest Vega One with 33% more protein and 2x more greens per scoop. All based on feedback from our community.
