I have owned or previously owned everything these guys have done, and while all of it was quality, nothing was memorable enough to be considered great, just technically proficient death metal. And that's fine, it's played with fire and balls, it sounds menacing, it's brutal, it's just lacking something to make you wanna continue to blast it everyday. With Demonocracy, the boys have finally remedied that situation, by combining a more technical brand of Death Metal, with their trademark groove tempo death, to create a brain frying, intense, sonic storm. Sometimes the lads miss the mark and fly into riff for riff's sake frenzy, but it's balanced with a very rhythmic attack courtesy of drummer Jon Rice, and poached bass guitarist, ex-Cephalic Carnage weirdo Nick Schendzielos. Vocalist John Davy administers what is definitely his best ever performance, but also one of the genre's, ranking him up there with the likes of "Eddie" Hermida of All Shall Perish, and Trevor Strnad of Black Dahlia Murder. This time the material sticks with you and songs have definite hooks, check out "Children of Deceit", and the bending pinch harmonic craziness of "Nourishment Through Bloodshed"! This is a very good release and probably the only one besides Doom I will continually listen to, until their next blasterpiece!

As anybody who has been paying even the slightest bit of attention in recent years would attest, Arizona's Job For A Cowboy are incredible musicians. They are so good at churning out great riffs, super-human drumming, technically-impressive guitar leads, and memorable solos, that they just might be worthy of owning the title "The new millennium's Dying Fetus." And their third-full length record, 2012's "Demonocracy," continues the tradition that was started on 2007's debut "Genesis" and 2009's "Ruination" in that it positively bristles with astounding, extreme-sports musicianship.

But there is more to JFAC's sound than just exceptional instrumental abilities. Their songwriting has improved with time, for one. See, these nine tunes are fused with just enough variety to keep things interesting and prevent the arrangements from descending into monotonous levels. Hence, there are actual, honest-to-goodness standout tracks present, here, as there are songs with really memorable parts. All of this, coupled with a newly increased bass presence, vehemently visceral vocals, and a crisp, clean, and thunderous production job make "Demonocracy" a slab of exceedingly good, enthralling, and utterly devastating death metal/grindcore.

Clocking in at roughly forty-minutes long all together, "Demonocracy" works as a series of swift kicks to the head, with The Origin-esque lead-off track, "Children Of Deceit," acting as one of the set's most bludgeoning blows. It is a blood-pumping opener that is riddled with blistering riffs, pummeling, machine gun blast beats, impeccable, jackhammer-fast double bass slamming, and The Black Dahlia Murder-worthy high/low vocal patterns. And it is all punctuated by a pair of piercing melodic guitar solos.

I have always enjoyed this band to some extent. The main thing that always drew me in was the lyrical content displayed with each album, Demonocracy is no different in that respect. Where it is different from other JFAC releases is the musicianship. In my opinion this band is really starting to shine and stand out amongst the pack. I must admit my first listen through this album didn't leave me overly impressed. Upon my third or fourth listen I started to hear little nuances in the music that started to grab my attention. This album is a grower, at least it was for me. My only complaint about this album is the opening track Children of Deciet. The song itself I have no problems with, I just don't feel it is a proper opener for an album. It just throws into the choas without warning(which probably was what they were going for). I think it would have benifited the album to have a slower opener, that would lead you into the album gradually. I also think that a slower opener would have complimented the closing track better. Speaking of the closer, Tarnished Gluttony is a fantastic way to end this album. This song has such an epic quality about it, and really shows what this band is capable of. It's also in my opinion the best track that this band has ever done. Demonocracy is a pleasant surprise, and if they continue on this route, great things are possible.

Mistakenly, along with The Black Dahlia Murder, Job For A Cowboy have been lumped in with deathcore bands. These guys are the farthest thing from any kind of tag other than death metal. Children Of Deceipt isnot just the opener, it is a perfect opener for Demonocracy. Nourishment Through Bloodshed, Imperium Wolves are brutal, technical songs that more than establish JFAC as one of death metal's new scene kings. The major riffs and solos are crushing and the addition of Nick from Cephalic Carnage is amazing. One of those instruments you don't hear enough of death metal. Check out Imperium Wolves and Toungless and Bound. The bass is just jumps out everywhere. And drumming prodigy John "The Charn" Rice is a drumming mad man. These guys are so young and talented that soon enough you will put them in a category with Cannibal Corpse ( with whom they toured The Summer Slaughter in summer 2012). The future is bright for this up and.coming death metal band. No tags needed
