I had a difficult time getting my whirls to pull out of the flat, tight spirals and twirl in 3-D. If they're allowed to hang for hours, they'll stretch on their own, but pulling on them by hand only gets them bent (the ones which were not bent when the package came open in-transit). I did not have hours to wait. At least the shiny purple color was eye-catching for my festival tent.
