These are my favorite hanging screws. The thick threads make for a great load limit. You have to drill a small pilot hole first and then these will go in easy. I first bought these to reinforce my kitchen cabinets since some of the single wall cabinets were leaning a few degrees. Now I bought more and use them anytime I'm installing a wall hanging shelf or bracket that needs to be able to hold a lot of weight.

I've used these screws to mount 50+ lb items such as coat/cabinet combos, etc. They will their job, as long as you use them on SOLID WOOD (studs, etc). The manufacturer took the time to clearly state this fact on the box. I've had these on my walls for years and so far, they've performed as they should/promised.

There's a reviewer here stating that you don't need to find studs to use these, so I felt compelled to write this review, because that reviewer's statement is INCORRECT. You can really hurt yourself or a love one if you don't use these on solid wood, 'cause if the unit your mounting/hanging is heavy, it will eventually fall.

I didn't buy these at Amazon, 'cause they weren't available when I needed them, but I did recommend them when I was reviewing the piece I was hanging ( Prepac Entryway Cubbie Shelf, White ) Please practice safety and use on solid wood.

I bought these as I could not find really heavy duty cabinet anchors at my home center. I typically over anchor because you never know what someone in the house is going to put on a shelf.

My home is 75 years old, well at least part of it is. There have been so many tweeks through the years that i have a combination of different wall materials through out the house. From plaster, to old dry wall to new dry wall. Some rooms at one point were exterior walls so I have block in the center of the house instead of studs in some areas. At one point I was having to use multiple different anchoring systems depending on what I was hanging and what I found behind the drywall/plaster. I now have only one, well I still have alot of others left over. Yes, Like tapcons sometimes you can hit a piece of concrete that just strips out, make sure you pre-drill wiht the proper size. I have never had an insue in wood, drywall or plaster. Right now i am making custom shelving /art peice for my wife, part of the wall in block and the other is studs 5 shelves in one anchor no issues. As a matter of fact the project has stopped because the 2 box stores in my area no longer carry these. I'm waiting patiently for thier arrival.
