Pugs have nothing on the front of their rounded face for this to catch and hold on. It does not stay on. Maybe for the picture of the non-moving pug on the package, it stayed on. But one paw to the face and it slides off.

One of our pugs likes to eat just about anything, especially palm fruit (resulting in an expensive operation for an obstruction).

So we decided he needed a muzzle while outside to stop this behavior.

Problem is brachicephalic dogs by 'design' have 'pushed in' faces and so traditional muzzles don't fit.

This product fits and works to a degree but it covers most of eyes...and pugs have bulging eyes so I can see the fabric causing abrasions/scratches to his corneas.

I was able to trim some of fabric away to mitigate this but then it doesn't hold on very well and tends to fall off.

I think a better solution will be a cone or inflatable 'donut' often prescribed by vets to prevent licking of wounds after surgery.

We purchased this mesh muzzle for our Pug to use only when we are trimming her nails. She has a hysterical fit when we trim them.
The muzzle didn't stay on very well, she was able to take her front paw and remove the muzzle. We have only used it once, and had to keep tightening it, but we will try again and maybe try to get it to fit a bit tighter next time.

Of course my dogs hate it.. but i'ts not supposed to be something that they like anyway.. It really helps me with them after they tire out from fighting the urge to bite... then I can groom them. Otherwise, it works for what it's designed to do.
