Our Portal fan college student loved these with one exception- they are not sterling wires but I fixed that. She has reactions to base metals in "fun" earrings so I just get new wires from the craft stores and change them out for her. Other than that they were larger than we expected but colorful and just plain fun for any Portal fan-and who isn't?

My husband bought these for me for my birthday. I'm a huge portal fan so they were a big hit with me. They are decently heavy but not enough that they pull on the ear lobes and they are made of a pretty thick metal. Overall I really like them and I'm happy to wear them out when I'm in the mood to broadcast my nerdiness.

Lovely, fun and nice weight

I got some compliments from some portal fans, but perhaps it's more easily recognized by those who've already seen the product. Looking at just one earring at a time, it's slightly ambiguous, but the color is still really nice, and I like their weight. It doesn't weigh down my ears, but there's just enough so I know it's there. You can feel the slightly raised outlines. I like dangly earrings, and if you don't like them touching against your neck every now and then, it's not for you.

They're ok as a novelty item

Any fellow portal fan will get it, and they look really cute. Unfortunately they are not of the highest quality and eventually the colour chips. If you really like them though, you can wear them until they fall apart and then order a new pair for this reasonable price. I'd also caution you when wearing them to bend the upper wire (the part that goes through your ear) closed so it sits snugly on your earlobe, as these wires are very thin and the earrings will slip out if you're not careful.

They stand out. Some people do a double take, but for the most part I get smiles and "nice!" They are a little on the heavy side, but they were lighter than I expected. I can't wear heavy earrings all day, and I can wear these with no problems so I was pleasantly surprised. They are not cheap flimsy earrings. I wore them on a windy day and had to put them in my pocket because my hair kept getting tangled in them, and was pleased to discover at the end of the night that they were not dented or bent in any fashion. in short, LOVE THEM!!!!! Honestly if I were looking at them in a store I would think they were $30 at least.
