Having gone through 4 different types of case protection for my iPad 2, I think I finally found my favorite solution when I look to protect "the new iPad", otherwise known as the iPad 3.

The question becomes how much protection does your iPad need, and what do you want to do it? I had a folio-type case before, but it's a little bulky and if you enjoy gaming, it makes it hard to do things like accelerometer based games. I also tried a sticker-skin-type protector to protect the back from scratches, but it doesn't do much for the edges or corners.

Finally I settled on a Just Air Case for Ipad - Black (8271) and a naked iPad 2 except for a sticker on the back.

When I bought my iPad 3, I wanted better protection, and the Amzer Silicone Jelly Skin provides it.

It is the pinnacle of simplicity. It's a nice thick silicone rubber skin that stretches around the entire iPad. There are a few other similar products, but this one seems to be the best. Installation is easy - stretch it like a rubber band and it holds tight to the device. This one is a nice deep black color that looks great on the iPad.

Unlike other skins, it wraps around the edges and also covers the screen frame in the front. The screen is not blocked, but the extra lip provides protection from falls directly on the screen. As the case provides no other screen protection (and I don't like protective screen-stickers), this is a useful feature.

This is one of the most disappointing items I've purchased from Amazon. This jelly case does fit the iPad 3 and all of the buttons do line up correctly and function. However, the problem lies in the cut outs for the front facing camera and the dock connector.

The ENTIRE front of this case (the roughly 1" of cover that goes around the front to protect everything on the front around the screen) bows up. It does not sit flush against the iPad at all. Now the case is tight around the iPad in general. The iPad never moves inside the case. But the front looks and feels so horrible due to the loose/bowed up parts of the front. This causes problems with the front facing camera. The camera's cut out is barely large enough. Because the front part of this case doesn't sit snug to the iPad, the front camera is partially blocked. When I pull up FaceTime, the bottom third of the screen is a white blur (I bought the white case). If I press down on the case near the camera, the blur goes away because the case is no longer "bowed up" into the camera. But the case simply bows back up as soon as you let go. The same happens on the sides and the bottom near the home button. However, these do not cause a problem with function unlike the front facing camera. They are merely ugly.

The last problem is with the dock connector. The connector's cut out in the case is just barely large enough for the Apple cable. Because this case has fitting issues near the connector, the jelly case must be pulled slightly for the cable to plug in. This isn't a huge deal because I rarely use the cable anymore (wifi sync, iCloud backups, etc).

This feels as though it was purchased at a flea market for $5. It would've received 1 star but I did read another review before I purchased that talked about the bowed up parts. I decided to try anyway. So it was partially my fault. I just know I will never purchase an Amzer anything ever again.

For the most part this is a nice case. but I am going to return because of the edges around the screen will not lay flat. They bubble up and will not lay flat. I left it on for 4 days with hopes it would stretch or mold itself but it got worse. others have complained of the same thing, i should have listened to them.

The hot pink cover I was sent did not fit my Ipad 3 or my friends' 1 and 4. The one I was sent was clearly labeled for an Ipad2. I ordered 4 of these covers, all in different colors from the same item description and the other 3 fit my Ipad 3 perfectly. Be careful in how the product is labeled when you receive it. I want to be clear, I ordered these covers for an Ipad 3 and the lime, blue and red ones I received were labeled for Ipads 2,3 and 4. The pink one was labeled for a 2. And for some weird reason, it does fit only a 2. The other 3 I received fit perfectly on my 3. The pink one gaps at all the edges, the other fit snugly but flat on all the edges. Just be aware.

I've used these type of skins for my iPod Touch and cellphone for the past few years, so I wanted to try one on my new iPad. Apparently, these types of cases are not very common for the iPad, as I had a difficult time finding one that was soft and rubbery - most were hard plastic. But, this is exactly what I was looking for and is an excellent fit for the new iPad. All cutouts for cameras, sound, connection points, and home button are aligned perfectly as are the points for Sleep/Wake buttons and volume control. I like this type of case as it provides good protection for everyday use around the house - it seems easier to carry around because it's easier to grip, and, in addition to providing protection against scratches on the back cover, it also makes it less likely that the iPad will slip off a counter or some other hard surface. However, this is a case that I will be removing off and on (to slip the iPad in a folio case which provides better protection for traveling, for example) and it does have a VERY snug fit, which makes it a bit of a challenge to take off and put on. So, this should be considered before purchasing. The first time putting it on took a bit of work to stretch it around all 4 corners, but the next time I put it on, it was a bit easier. From my experience, the rubber skins used on my iPod & phone have stretched considerably, so I expect this will, too, though it is, of course, larger and thicker.
