This is much nicer to use than my beautiful stand alone pedestal wine ice bucket cooler and is not as easily accidentally knocked over with really messy results. However, it is not by itself able to chill adequately a champagne bottle from room temperature. It cools the bottle, but a second one straight from the freezer is needed for good results,

This cooler alone will not get a champagne bottle ice-cold from room temperature, but it definitely helps to cool even more and keeps it cool after a quick last minute freezer bottle chilling. We no longer place a champagne bottle in the fridge way in advance nor fool with drippy ice bucket. When I bought the item, my husband thought it was a waste of money and freezer space. However, he started using all the time, and this gives me great satisfaction. ; )

Works well if the champagene is already "somewhat" cool. As others have mentioned, it is not strong enough to cool from room temperature (the ice melts too fast to cool from that temperature level). If you have somewhat chilled champage, and want to get it really cold, OR want to keep it cold for an hour while out out of the refridgerator, this works well.

I don't know about the rapid chilling, but this fit nicely over an already-chilled bottle of cava and kept it cool for several hours. I also like the mostly black design as it is unobtrusive and faded into the background of our table. Best of all, no drips from pulling a bottle out of a champagne bucket.

We have used Vacu Vin wine chillers in the past, but this is great since it is large to accommodate a champagne bottle and comes all the way up with the added drawstring. Very nice feature. We gave it as a gift but are thinking of purchasing one for ourselves.

I keep it in the freezer at all times so its ready to chill a bottle of Wine or Champagne. I stick the bottle in the sleeve and place both back in the freezer for about half an hour with chilling results. Then if I choose I can bring the bottle with the sleeved chiller into the room where I am to serve the Wine and the wine will stay cold because of the cooler.

I started with a chilled bottle with this cooler hoping it would stay cold when I took it to an event. It kept it cool enough until we opened the bottle 45 minutes later but it wasn't nearly as chilled then and it warmed up quickly. I think this is best used as a substitute for an ice bucket for short periods of time as another reviewer suggested. It is inexpensive so I rate this as an acceptable product.

I purchased a few of these for presents....It is a present that keep on giving....Love it and works well.
Not only does it keep the champagne chilled, it has a fun photo on the cover. This works well on the larger bottles
I also purchased the wine coolers to give as presents.....all were well received. Will buy again.
