Outstanding value

These shoes are my favorite for running and everyday use. I keep a separate pair for running, and after a few hundred miles I "retire" them to everyday use. I started with Downshifter 4 (2 pairs), and now have purchased 2 pairs of Downshifter 5. If I go shoe shopping, I literally go pull off the shelf a new pair of these as my comfort comparison. If a new shoe I am considering does not match the comfort of this shoe, I don't even consider it. The best feature is the price. There are other comfortable Nikes, but they will run you over $100. I'm happy paying $30-50 for these and replacing them as needed. So far I have also had no issue with the shoes falling apart (up to 3 years, I think, for my first pair?)...everything stays together nicely.

My only complaint is that the stock insoles are very thin so they flatten to nothing after a few hundred miles of running. (To be expected?) But for $10 I get a replacement gel insert from Target, throw away Nike's insert, and I add years to the life of the shoes.

Highly recommended. I'm shopping today for my fifth pair

These not only look great on, but they fit perfect, nice material, very well made, and very happy I bought them. Would recommend them to anyone that enjoys a nice looking pair of shoes and is looking for comfort..Im diabetic so that is very important to me.

I took a calculated risk with buying a shoe online, I already had another Nike Running shoes and bought the same size, it was a nice fit and comfortable.

Most comfortable shoe!

I hope they don't discontinue or "update" this comfy shoe like they did to the Air Pegasus that had the most comfortable sole to walk on. If they do the same to this shoe and make it like all the other Nikes nowadays that feel like you are walking on a piece of tire, then I will not buy this again. But until that happens, I say this is the most comfortable mens running shoe on the market and I highly recommend it.

Great shoe!

Absolutly great shoe, I was having a lot of calf issues and not being able to run distances without my legs hurting after I purchased the Reebok Ziglite. These shoes were amazing, seeing as how I am in the military and am running daily this is a good solid shoe with just the support needed to get a good run in.

Happy for quick shipping

I alredy had an idea of the type of athletic shoes I wanted, I know what size Nikes fit me, so that is not a problem.
I am constantly being Emailed by 3 shoe companys, but what is on deal to me price-wise, is no deal.
On a whim, I went on-line to Amazon and found several styles I liked, at the prices I liked.
The "good" pair I was wearing were white. (not good for winter mess.) So I wanted black.
I like this syle and the price that was offered, so I went ahead and ordered them.
I was happy when they showed up a day before I was given as the delivery date!
(Some how, I ripped the sole loose on my other's the day the new ones were delivered!
These are not only comortable, thaey are light. It's like wearing slippers.

Can't go wrong with Nike shoes.

Pretty much the only shoes I've worn during my 40 year life are Nikes. To me, they all feel pretty much the same, so I know what to expect when ordering them online. I wear them all day, not as running shoes. The added comfort of a running shoe keeps my feet from getting tired on a long day. This style looks nice and was inexpensive. They're a little darker blue than they look on my monitor. Online they look more purple than blue to me.
